Since onboarding dates are all for virtual basics right now with no Cost of Living does anyone know if the pay during the virtual basics is just the base pay with no locality or do they do locality pay based on where you are living?

Its DC locality. Even when at the academy.

Per medical, I’ve been cleared since 1/7

Hopefully she doesn’t keep me waiting too much longer ? I need peace of mind already.

You were conditionally cleared not fully cleared. The investigation continues even after that. It just allows you to start. I had an interview months after i already got to my firs facility.

We have similar timelines, I actually cleared both after you, so maybe your date is coming real soon! I’ve been emailing her weekly and she finally sent me a date probably to shut me up ? maybe email her and you’ll get it quicker? ? worked for me haha

Having trouble finding a place to get my fingerprints done due to COVID. I'm from Suffolk County, Long Island - does anyone know of any spots nearby?

I went to Seaford PD, but obviously you would have to go to a Suffolk precinct. Printscan I think they have to ship it to you. The results aren’t immediate, so I wouldn’t choose that unless you wanna pay a premium to have next day delivery or something gaurentee before the ten days is up. I think a precinct is your best bet. Expensive though, at least in Nassau. But that’s LI for ya.

Yeah but the info from the old passport to the new one would have changed, no? I'd figure a replacement would have a whole new ID and issue date to differentiate it from the previous one.

From my experience all the info stays the same. The only thing that could change is your passport number and it hasnt. Pretty sure its yours for life.

I got a call the other day saying I was cleared from the flight surgeon from all that bs I went through. hopefully getting an email with a date as well.

The e-mail says:

"To avoid any delay in the processing of your background investigation, you are strongly encouraged to use a local law enforcement agency or other third party fingerprint service provider to have your fingerprints taken."

But the fingerprint form says:

"Fingerprints may be taken at any local law enforcement agency or a Federal Aviation Administration Regional Security office. They may also be done at a military installation should you have access to one."

I’m not sure if they change your number if you lose a passport. But it doesn’t matter, they don’t ask you for your old passport info, only your current passport if you do have one.

I think you just misunderstood, I meant the rush-ordered new passport would be the backup plan if they refuse to provide the information from the lost passport.

You’ve had how long to get it together?

My local recorder/clerk office lets me walk in and get a new birth certificate in just a couple of minutes. As for the passport, try calling or going to the closest office with your birth certificate. They can issue passports same day, no reason they can’t just give you the info from your old one (IIRC you need all of the info, number, issued date, etc.) Worst case you pay the ~$300 for the rushed passport.

I was thinking the same thing, but with covid the office for the vital records isnt doing in person anymore.

I dont think so, bc I found out that I cleared my mmpi before I even had my medical exam

People reported on here that they were cleared pending their mmpi results since there was such a delay in testing at first. So I guess they do in some cases.

Everything is moving so quickly for me. I have my medical scheduled for Monday my drug test scheduled for Wednesday and my MMPI scheduled for Thursday next week.
