Going down to the academy in February. Trying to get the housing all figured out. I’m currently on the waitlist at Kim’s place. Anyone stay somewhere else that they enjoyed? Also, FAA says they will cover $69.60/night. I assume the rest comes out of our pocket? Went to the approved list of hotels and nobody said they could offer that rate per night. Am I missing something?

I stayed with one of the providers at Anatole Apartments back in '17

Would totally recommend that. I also brought my wife and I didn't want the party experience but went out for study groups almost everyday.

Embassy suites if you like your own space, you can earn enough points for Hilton diamond status and it's all on the government dime. All of her approved providers charge up to the daily rate of they are more it's a scam. Kim's place gives a little back and does groceries for you and your roommate. At Kim's you'll need a car or ride with a classmate. embassy suites is a part of the shuttle route and closer to more restaurant options and cowboys if you're into that kind of thing

Kim’s place is on the shuttle route now.

On the housing list there is a person of contact. Call them and let them know you are going to the academy. They will let you know the lodging they represent that will let you stay for the $69.60/night. Cindy is really good and has a few different properties that accept that rate. She also has relationships with them so she sometimes has perks like a free upgrade. I went through her in '22 and stay at the Residence inn nw expressway and got a good amount of points but not as many as you would think since redemption rates are so high per room. The status you get is nice though. The pay is so little already at the academy so I would try not to pay anything out of pocket for lodging.

I second this. I stayed at Anatole in '20. One of my classmates went with A&T Corporate housing, I went with Corporate Housing Solutions. With Anatole, you get a furnished apartment to yourself. Pretty decent apartments too: balcony, laundry, pool, gym. They have apartments on the north and south side of SW 12th St. I would recommend the south side if possible because I believe those are all the newly renovated ones. Another one of our classmates was at Kim's and ended up transferring to Anatole with the rest of my class. Kim's offers free groceries, but the list my classmate got was very selective. I used Walmart delivery at Anatole. $10 flat rate delivery for anything you want.

Staybridge downtown brick town. Couple of us classmates in TSEW staying here on the FAA rate. Make sure you specify FAA student rate when calling. Hotel has been great. Only 15 minutes from academy.
