Government Shutdown

You two are a special type of people.

Businesses have all the protections, and here you are still advocating against the middle class of America for the rich.

Bet you two are all for child labor, otherwise why be born, they should have been born somewhere else if they didn't want to run coal dammit.

Wage theft, alongside litigation immunities, alongside every other type of employer abuse is in the long line of how business is stacked against the employee.

Move somewhere else, go work for someone else, start your own business...with what money? Maybe I don't want too?

All people are asking for is that employers who are negligent, commit abuse, put their employees into harms way, be held accountable. Yet you two are completely against a person being able to seek reparations through the legal system, neither libertarian in any sense and to be frankly fairly communist.
No sir, you are a special type of person if you think businesses in this country are the ones who are protected. We have all these stupid laws on the books to "protect" the worker at the expense of both parties. It is extremely risky to hire anyone in this day and age. Employees can sue you for so many things. Let's say you hired a black man and then passed him up for a promotion for someone with the same qualifications but maybe they are a better employee. You can bet your sweet ass that's an easy lawsuit. Let's say you have an office full of dudes and hire a woman and one of the guys happens to sexually harass her. She's going to sue the company because they have the deep pockets. Let's say you hired gay man and he turns out to be an absolute shit employee and you fire him. You guessed it, another easy lawsuit resulting in monetary harm to a business. But let me guess, that's okay because business owners are all evil and bad! What are some of these terrible business protections you speak of? Btw, this may come as a surprise but many small business owners are just middle class people like you and me, not ultra rich assholes jet setting in their g5 on the weekend.

If you think congress is passing protections for small businesses and not Walmart or any other corporation that writes a 50k campaign check. You’re high.
My points remain. I don't think you should be able to sue walmart if you catch covid there either. My logic is usually pretty consistent across the board which is more than most people can say.

Anybody that wants to sue a large corporation will find a BS reason. These protections are for the employees that were subject to known hazards

Ohh this is a whole transcript from Fox News, the exact same shit 32andBelow does when he regurgitates CNN crap. You two are practically twins.

You're arguement is built on hearsay and fabricated bullshit that isn't practical in the real world. Lawsuits aren't succesful without evidence, and the party lacking evidence suffers the costs.

You've proven again you have absolutely no clue how civil court cases work, and to top it you endorse the limitations of freedom on the average American by restricting their rights to justice.

The cost of legal fees for these small businesses would sink them. Especially on the heels of the shutdowns. Amazon will be fine and so will every major company.

Wouldnt it be so tragic to sue your employer into closing their doors. Who wins in that scenario? Amazon, Walmart, etc.
You know how you avoid even the possibility of being sued and having to pay legal fees?

Take reasonable precautions to protect your mother fucking employees from covid you moronic fucking dolt. No one is saying anymore than that.

Jesus christ how much clearer can anyone make it? You act like someone is gonna walk in a court room and say "I got covid, and I blame Joe's antique shop and cat wares!" and some judge is just gonna be like "good I award you 5 million in damages".... Which, fuck no it'll be more like "I work for Joe, Joe required my coworker to come in under penalty of firing him when he was sick, and then I got sick and I passed it to my live in grandmother who died" or " Joe didn't take any precautions at all and required us to not wear masks because he thought covid was a hoax and I got sick and couldn't afford my medical bills because Joe pays us under the table and i don't have employer provided insurance and can't afford premiums" etc.

Those people deserve zerrrrrro fucking protections. That's what they are talking about. I don't see anywhere in the bill requiring full Decon and mopp suits if you work in a grocery store, or having to pay your employees to stay home and not work. Jesus fucking christ you guys need to pull your heads out of your asses.

Rawr.

Your coworker didn’t HAVE to come to work. That’s an equal opportunity case for them not you.

if you get it, you quarantine. If you’re threatened to be fired for sick leave, equal opportunity complaint for you too.

maybe grandma wouldn’t have gotten got if you quarantined like you’re supposed to. Case dismissed.

see i fixed the problems you presented with already existing means. I’ve had former employees get fired because they abused sick time off. They file EO complaints with the state. And the company even settled with two of them who had legit claims.

blaming an employer for your own asinine decision to go to grandma’s house when sick is no grounds for legal action.

I specifically mentioned a grandma you live with. I suppose grandma should just pull herself up by the bootstraps and move or die then?

And yes, of course you could file an eo complaint or whatnot for an employer denying you sick leave or making firing threats, but having spent a pretty decent portion of my non government time in a retail environment while I was in school between the military and faa..... Thats not what's going to happen. I've had shitty bosses in that environment before. They are going to huff and puff and make you feel bad for calling in. They are going to make allusions to hiring new employees in your presence or talk shit on people who call in sick to you when it's someone else sick and not you. Hell I've been told "we really need you here and I'm going to write you up for not giving enough notice before using sick", hell I've seen an employee be fired for something else piddly bc they used too much fmla and they just found another excuse to get rid of her.

And most of the time these tricks work because people can't afford to lose thier jobs and that threat or the implication from the boss is all it takes, and don't have the time to fight it while scrambling for another job to make ends meet, and that's if they are even aware of the laws.

Let's not act like every job is like ours and everyone gets treated the same by thier employers, has a contract and a union etc, because thats absolutely not the case, particularly in low skill/low wage jobs. Its pretty out of touch to act otherwise IMO.

It's a g6, you are on an aviation forum and there's a literal song about the g6. I think we've now seen your intelligence level.
