Hardship Cover Letter

Do your best to convey that the separation from your spouse, along with being pregnant, would be detrimental to your health/well-being. This can be carefully worded in the cover letter of your hardship paperwork, as well as any medical documentation you may be able to provide.
Thank you, I have a pretty good letter written that the old Natca RVP of the western region wrote for me back when I had a similar situation but a kid was not involved that I'm going to modify. He was so helpful. I ended up getting picked up by NCEPT last time. I think maybe stressing that this is his last time he has to move before getting out of the Navy might help too. I'm having a really hard time getting anyone from the Southern region to put any effort at all towards this. It's weird because my management is so helpful and willing to make phones calls etc. but Natca just tells me I don't have a case. It all seems a little backwards to me.

I’m not exactly sure who the hardship rep is for the southern region; I’d suggest logging into the NATCA portal and contacting them personally regarding your situation (that is to say, so long as your facility rep hasn’t reached out to them already).

I dont think you have much of a case myself. Anything can happen I guess.

Yea man and end up in Alaska. The misconception that I want to move and be put in this position is frustrating.
I'm probably going to have to walk away from this job because of this, I don't really think it's funny.
Which is part of what makes your hardship not valid. You knew about this being a possibility when you took the job im guessing.

I mean your husband is in the military. What did you expect to happen?

Other option is quit for a year, spend the year as a stay at home mom with the baby, then do the direct apply to a facility

Have the kid. Get divorced. Let him take custody. Hardship. ?
Lol, yea I know that would probably give me a better chance. That’s why my initial post I was saying would they really deny it just because we’re not divorced? I feel like at that point I’m scamming if I did that. I’m trying to be honest and try to fit my situation into a legit hardship. I do think it’s better for the health of an infant to be with both parents so maybe Cat I. We’ll see, he’s only got a few more years in the military that’s why I’m going to try really hard to make this work.

I used to hate scammers but the system creates the need, so do what you have to do for you. Has he applied for early separation or is that not something he/you are considering?

Yea I’d kind of feel like I’m fooling myself though, I trust my husband but no one ever plans for things to go bad. In the event that they do and I’ve already given up custody of my kid. Something doesn’t sit right.
He doesn’t want to do that, he has 2 more years and if he can stay in SD after that he’ll stay in and if not probably get out. We both know I’m not going to be able to move around a lot.

So. This is a lot of TMI.
Western Region told me years ago I didn't have a case as they had never tried military orders as a reason to hardship, but they "would do everything in their power to get me to follow my military spouse". I should have demanded it to set precedence but I didn't want to get a name for myself. Well...

Long story short, NACTA region did not sell it as a hardship, I was able to ERR to a terrible facility (unbeknownst to me), technically downgrade a level (obviously I kept my higher pay but it still "looks" like a downgrade until you can explain why), get there and treated like crap by that facility and then my now ex cheated. So I was stuck at a terrible facility going through a terrible divorce because I moved cross country and gave up SAN DIEGO for a dude.
Seriously only go if you can upgrade your career AND are happy being there if your marriage doesn't work out. And if you're leaving SD, it better be something even more amazing, which is what??.....Nothing is better than SD.

All that to say: I doubt it will go through. It would be nice if it did though and there was a precedence set either yay or nay for military spouses. Like maybe yay but only 2 times total in your career.
Depends on who is in charge of the regions right now.

I think I just came up with a new site feature. Tinder for placement/hardships. Match with people at a facility you want to be at. ?

let me know before you release it so I can file my divorce

Back to the cover letter details. When submitting to an area with multiple facilites, do you only mention the area in the cover letter and a separate list of facilities? Also, I guess I need the 3330-43-1’s for each facility that works?
