Has anyone heard of Supervisor number ever being lowered?

Facility has been downgraded twice recently. Has the supervisor number being lowered ever happened, and if it did, how did it happen?

No downgrades needed. We lost a supe and they arbitrarily said we didn't need to replace them.

I have witnessed some downgrades and no, I haven’t seen that either. Also a side question, did anyone ever see a sup get kicked back to the floor in their first year “probation” period as a supervisor?

I have never seen it myself, but I know of at least one person that was kicked back to the BU during their probation period. I think it shocked no one who knew him. On a side note, I also know of a supe who bid a permanent job, made the transfer out of state and trained for a few weeks, but then was approved to transfer back to the controller ranks at his old facility. (I think it was an easy sell, since his old facility was understaffed). His wife unexpectedly landed a great job opportunity, so the situation changed overnight. He lost his seniority and was stuck on Tue/Wed until he retired a couple years later. Pretty nice guy and he said going back to the BU was "the best move of his career," in spite of getting crappy RDOs.

How do you get back to the BU after taking a sup bid? It's probably listed somewhere in here but I think that may be a bit of a dig. Do you just talk to the atm and tell him you want to kick rocks? I'd imagine they wouldn't want to let you go right away depending on their own sup staffing.
