IQTR class pass rate

RTF instructors are also used to having pass/pass classes so I wonder if that plays a role in it. Like they don't feel the need to grade as strictly as the Tower or Enroute instructors.

But also RTF is super easy

I assume this path is similar to tower and enroute though where it’s FAA evaluators doing the grading and not the contract instructors. Also the normal RTF class consists of current tower certified controllers who already have experience. I assume these classes are mostly off the street kids with little to no aviation experience at all. Still unusual that every single person has passed the class so far

It is not pass/pass. The difficulty of RTF evals (especially after doing TSEW) basically makes it impressive if you can find a way to fail.

I thought one of those guys slated for N90 failed one of the early classes and discovered the loophole that you can avoid N90 and go to PBI instead by failing. I'd try to find a reference on here but it appears the search function has been nerfed.

IQTR will be another failed attempt to hurry people through. Now someone with maybe no experience will start on radar and not know the basics that FD/CD teaches.
Set up for failure. $15K to go fail at some place get placed in low level well staffed facility and then move right passed everyone and to a big house.
The $15K bonuses should be given to people who have been trying to leave places for more than three year and have more than 8 years CPC at that place.

There was two of them in the same class that went to different facilities. I forget all the specifics, but basically they didn't want to terminate an employee that had passed RTF and also never had an evaluation done by an FAA evaluator (still were using high level Tracon supervisors at that time.)
After them, the plan for TETRA failures was to send them back for an RTF eval with an evaluator until they could get full time TETRA evaluators.

March 12th is the only TETRA class scheduled at this time. That class already has students assigned to it from the RTF-Large class that started on January 2nd. They will then attend TSEW-Large before starting TETRA. There are six more RTF-Large classes scheduled and 6 more TSEW-Large classes scheduled.

I have a friend at RTF right now. He said the one that failed TETERA was retained and offered PBI. Needless to say no one in that guy's class was too pleased.

Thanks to MJ for restoring the search function. Looks like the first TETRA class started in March 2018 and the first guy that failed and went to PBI was in June 2018.
