NDJH - The Yacht - A Three-Region Convention Dinner

If any of this is news to you, you need to get your rube ass off BenedictLenny’s horseshit atc2
Brother you are missing the bigger picture, but let us table the drama. Logically, everything about this regardless of intentions or optics, reeks of a campaign event. NDJH announcement seems more than a coincidence. Not to mention having dinner on a yacht while people are slaving away on 6/10’s demonstrates nothing but the absolute disconnect between leadership and members.

We get it, the union worked for you, but for a lot of other people it is not working.

Meanwhile you have Nick’s own cronies (looking at you Mary) saying “well if the membership has a problem with the way the union spends money, that should be addressed at convention”. Newflash to ALL of you upper NATCA folks … the membership is beyond fed up with how you spend our dues money. If you can’t grasp that simple concept, you’re too deep in the social club. I hope that regardless of who wins this pitiful election, there is still a bunch of people who drop their withdrawal paperwork and tell NATCA they can have us back when they prove they’re deserving of our dues.

I’m well aware of the bigger picture.

It doesn’t matter where the dinner was held, they were gonna announce at convention. It’s the flagship event seems totally normal to announce at convention. Who cares about that.

This is an argument against any solidarity event at convention. Which I disagree with but whatever lots of people feel that way it’s fine. What’s full retard is singling out this event. And the initial propaganda surrounding the bad press for this event was intentionally misleading and gross and done specifically for certain “leader’s” self interest. They knew what they were doing and buncha idiots on the internet bought it.

It’s not working for a lot of people. And it’s been that way for literal years. We’re just miles apart on what defines change.
If you’re mad about parties at convention you are absolutely mad about the wrong shit. There’s so many problems, name calling about dinner is such a wimpy distraction I can’t believe how effective it was.

I do not think you are aware of the “bigger picture.” You are in your bubble because things just happened to work out for you. Every misstep NDJH has made, has been completely oblivious to how it would be perceived by the working membership, people with the least amount to gain. People see a lot more than you give them credit forD

I never said I was mad about any parties, but the “change” NDJH represents to include the people backing them does not appear to be any change at all. “Meet the new boss, same as the old.” The corners of the internet and people I talk to express great concern over individuals like Jim, Trish, et al returning in quasi form to exert influence. This is not change brother.

Think outside the bubble.

Nick Daniels was just negotiated 80 hours by Dean for transitioning out of the RVP role. This will take him to CFS where will get 24 hours of excused absence which will put us just about to the election counting. Homeboy is that scared to plug in.

There’s no bigger scam than the convention. They vote everything down then party. It should be a bigger scandal that these people voted against us having to ratify extensions. Let that sink in. They don’t want us to have a say
Your rep votes at convention. Run for rep.

There’s no greater echo chamber than the internet. Where you guys exist and exchange bullshit back and forth. The amount of false shit that gets posted on this site and on atc2 has a real impact on the membership. One of leadership’s biggest problems has been discounting the weight of this venue. They’ve been ignoring it for years.

Again, we disagree about what constitutes change. I disagree with this whole part. I think the people you’re talking to are misinformed by the internet.

And in all that time Rich didn’t throw one yacht party
Rich was an RVP he’s done all the same solidarity events. Beat it Lenny you stink

Well, we are all entitled to have opinions. I field more phone calls than I can remember, the internet is a tool if used properly. The internet was discounted because it could not be controlled and now it has morphed into something (what I suspect) no one saw coming. For good or ill it has given people a voice and most people just want to be heard.

I truly think you are wrong and that the election of NDJH would be a few steps back, not forward, for the union. Power will always corrupt especially by those who are looked up to as examples or advisors that once held it.

Again we are just miles apart in defining change. But being an advocate for change and advocating for the same leadership’s reelection is a twilight zone level mental backflip.

It depends what narrative you believe. Some think there is a nasty group of RVPs acting in bad faith.
