Precisely... there are so many little nuggets of clarification in here that add up to show just how out of touch this guy is... case in point:
NTSB: How tall is your tower [at AUS]?
A: 900 ft, I think
NTSB: 900 ft?
A: I have no idea how tall the tower is.

I don't remember how tall my shitty low level tower is, I had to make room for SVFR rules. I also do not launch a/c with arrivals less than 3 miles in heavy IMC.

Even though I heard all the stories, reading this I can't believe how dumb this guy is. I also can't believe none of these reports tell the real story about the series of events that led him to be working FDX & SWA that morning. This is much more than just an unlucky OE.
