Pence was always a do nothing vp. He fucked up bad in Indiana and is only there because he was one of the few people that would attach themselves to Trump before he won in 2016 politically. Thay gamble paid off for him in the short term.

But really, I had for a bit bought the line that we would only have Democrats from now on if we went by popular vote. The reality is that the Republicans would have to find someone actually decent for once to sway democratic voters, forcing the Democrats to have to do the same. Or maybe we could actually get a really awesome person third party that our nation could unite behind. (I know, I know, a rational candidate is too much to ask, but a man can dream)

At the very least, it would be a race to the top instead of a race to the bottom.

It’s not that no one wants to. Many of these candidates match voters’ beliefs better.

They are disincentivized by our system from voting for what would make them happy. Adding a party or trying to gain support won‘t work. If you don’t want Democrats or Republicans, it’s the system that’s broken, not the voters.
