Honestly that's some softy outrage bullshit to get all pissy about someone's joke.

I mean James Carville was telling dems to "put away the razor blades and ambien" last night on natl TV.
I don’t think suicide is funny whether it’s joking or not but that could just be me.

Yeah idk that’s not really funny to me. I didn’t get pissy about it but it’s definitely a little yikes of a joke to make. And James carville is an asshole.

When your vote has direct influence on an election it’s not shouting into a void.
Ok, I misunderstood your sentiment. It is shouting into a void when you vote 3rd party and then effectively have 0 say in who gets elected, hence screaming into the void. Should it be like that? No, I think it’s terrible. But realistically there is no viable third party at this time.

It’s all about context. Probably wasn’t a good call for the person in this thread or James Carville to make that joke. But it can absolutely be funny

I don't disagree, just saying getting upset at someone else's meaningless joke on the internet and going on and on about it is meaningless. Down thumb and move on.

I agree that no third party has a chance currently. I think the biggest potential benefit if more people vote third party would be to maybe pull one of the parties more to the center.

There is no viable 3rd party candidate because people think that voting for a 3rd party is "wasting their vote." If people decided to actually research candidates and vote based on agenda (and actually held them to fulfilling campaign promises) and didnt just walk into the booth and vote based on who had a big R or D next to their name then we would inarguably be much better off.

LOL. Imagine seeing the democratic party platform as far left.

It’s not just that they think it. It is wasting their vote. If you vote with your heart, but get your worst option when you could have prevented it, that’s a bad move. These people aren’t voting R or D because they’re dumb (well...), it really is to their advantage.

So 60 million people in 2016 didn't vote for a lifelong democrat and Clinton friend and gun control supporter because there was a big (R) next to his name?

Okay. Thanks for your input.

We disagree on many political topics but this is spot on.

Take away party affiliations and we never have Trump to begin with.
