My facility is absolutely boned this summer. Theres 2 areas that have like 25CPCs tops that would need 35+ to be fully staffed, and 0 training going on to make it any better.1.4 million people flew yesterday. Traffic numbers are climbing and climbing
All in the name of not having a couple extra bodies on the floor to mitigate understaffing and burnout. The FAA made their beds and now CPC’s and trainees get to sleep in it for the next 10 yearsMy facility is absolutely boned this summer. OT is already coming back to make us basically 6/1, and thats with still reduced staffing numbers and no training. We are in no way prepared for normal ops, even though the airlines clearly are. Last week or two has been busy AF compared to anything weve seen in the last year.
Not training for a year plus is gonna be a real big brain moment for the FAA guaranteedMy facility is absolutely boned this summer. Theres 2 areas that have like 25CPCs tops that would need 35+ to be fully staffed, and 0 training going on to make it any better.

Yes, our county was yellow for 2 consecutive weeks.Did you guys make the magic map?
President Joe Biden’s administration denied the lawyers access to the tent facility. During the administration of former President Donald Trump, attorney visits to Border Patrol stations revealed severe problems, including dozens of children held at one rural station without adequate food, water, or soap.
“It is pretty surprising that the administration talks about the importance of transparency and then won’t let the attorneys for children set eyes on where they’re staying,” said Leecia Welch of the National Center for Youth Law, one of the lawyers. “I find that very disappointing.”
Although none of the children reported situations as severe as during the Trump era, Welch said the lawyers “weren’t able to lay eyes on any of it to see for ourselves, so we’re just piecing together what they said.”
A 1997 court settlement known as the Flores agreement sets standards for government detention of immigrant children. Lawyers are entitled under Flores to conduct oversight of child detention. The Justice Department declined to comment Thursday on why the lawyers were denied access. The Biden administration has not responded to several requests from The Associated Press seeking access to the tent
This is an absolute given. Not to you specifically but if one cannot see that the media is trying to spin something that fits their narrative and keeps them in power then you're a retard. It was happening before Trump and became blatantly obvious when he was president. Baby boomers say "better dead than red" and millenials should be saying "better dead than read".Wonder if we’re in for 4 years of media downplaying of things Biden does worse than Trump.
I'm at a big league facility, similar staffing situation and have been mandatory 6/1's since late last year in my area. Hasn't been fun, management has also really ramped up their sick leave letter threats... during a pandemic in purple tier county 🙄 Good luck to you guys.My facility is absolutely boned this summer. Theres 2 areas that have like 25CPCs tops that would need 35+ to be fully staffed, and 0 training going on to make it any better.

That’s my understanding. Once you’re back, you’re back for good.If you’re training in magic map criteria and it goes above yellow, they just have to stop recall not training correct?
Hookers? Pfft I’m putting all of it into Dogecoin. When it hits $60K like Bitcoin, boom, you just became a billionaire. If you theoretically had $1400 would you buy one $1400 hooker, 7 $200 hookers, or 2 eight balls and 3 $300 hookers?
Ok what does that have to do with people that were hired to be controllers that can only get raises if they train.Just checked the ppt. We're only down like 400 CPC's YoY and over the past few months, cpcs actually on board has increased. We still have 3270 trainees in the system, which is more or less the same YoY. Now factor in reduced traffic and easier checkouts, combined with resetting hours and spool up time and the fact there will be very few washout over the next few years as a result and we're looking at staffing surpluses throughout the nas still. Yes traffic is slowly picking up, but not all that much. Some areas and some facilities might still be marginally understaffed but the system as a whole will be better staffed compared to overall workload and man hours required to operate the system than before covid. Unless a ton of retirements start picking up as more places return to bws, I can't see the staffing situation getting any worse in the near term.
I was addressing all the guys like you saying the FAA is so fucked for years to come and now all these CPCs that have milked 5/5 and 5/10 are gonna reap what they sow when they're on 6/1 indefinitely and can't get any leave when in reality, the staffing situation really isn't that bad and is actually much better than years past when you calculate total workload divided by total CPCs. Ironically, one thing that did catch my eye was DEN being like 65% staffed. Funny seeing one of the most desired fac's hurting like that. Could be a golden opportunity for a lucky few after covidOk what does that have to do with people that were hired to be controllers that can only get raises if they train.
Maybe. Airlines keep adding more and more flights for summer tho. It’s not gonna be a slow and steady ramp upI was addressing all the guys like you saying the FAA is so fucked for years to come and now all these CPCs that have milked 5/5 and 5/10 are gonna reap what they sow when they're on 6/1 indefinitely and can't get any leave when in reality, the staffing situation really isn't that bad and is actually much better than years past when you calculate total workload divided by total CPCs.
