They shouldn’t have blocked Garland, they should have held hearings and voted against him If they didn’t want him, as was their right. Mitch should have came out and said “we were wrong then, we’re doing it the right way this time” to at least be ideologically consistent. He does have a point about the Senate and President being the same party, though, which wasn’t the case with Garland.
Elections do have consequences, and the Republicans have a majority in the senate right now, so 2018 had a consequence that Democrats are feeling now. Instead of accepting that consequence, you guys are going full scorched-earth, and it’s probably going to come back to bite you in the butt, whether it means Biden losing because of this court packing issue, or Republicans following your lead and packing the court enough to counter any bias you put in. This whole thing is the definition of “two wrongs don’t make a right.”
