My experience with TX hunting is unless you have access to private land, which for such a big state the huntable public land access is awful, it's not good.

That's a sample size of one though. But Ya if you have dollars to buy in on a hunt or access to land it's pretty good is my understanding, that was not my case though when I was there.
That may be accurate, the people I know did drop significant $ for their trips.

Ya the deer hunting in Central TX is insane, but the entire state is private ranches.

Also some cool exotic species running on some of the ranches in S TX but you pay a premium for those as well, and I'm kinda iffy on the ethics of fenced ranch hunting of non native species.

Dude that's the one redeeming factor of Nevada, being at the base of the Sierras is a literal backyard of shenanigans for any outdoorsman.

Side note, 32andBelow did you block me?
Ya the western states are where it's at when it comes to public land access. OK is actually pretty decent as well if you are open to boy hunting, deer wise, lots of lakes for waterfowl and the bird hunting has been hit and miss the last decade, but is back on the upswing.

Elk and pronghorn coming back too, which I'm pumped for

Tbh Reno is ugly. The Sierra Nevadas are beautiful though.
We did a norcal trip a few years ago, ya the Sierras are something else. I could live there for sure.

No. I’m not like that. Tbh I’d don’t have a laptop so I’m spending most my time in my Reddit echo chamber dunking on the maga hats

Yeah Reno right? Heard its beautiful over there
CC nailed it, but it's really one of the better places I didn't think I'd like to live.

Those high alpine lakes are the best hike in camping/fishing I've enjoyed. Tahoe is overrated though.

Ya she's a keeper, I outkicked my coverage for sure.

Got any brewers or hunters in this group? I have too many hobbies haha
Deer/Turkey hunter here. I grew up with a few hundred acres of private land access to hunt, but I’ve changed states and now all I have is public land and boy is it a whole different world. I was spoiled as a young man

I do both, wasn't able to hunt this year due to a move but next year should be blacktail/elk in the freezer.

Also thinking about getting into distilling for any beer that doesn't make the cut. Done mead and about to try some sake making here in a month or so

I want to get into hunting but don't know anyone around here yet. Figure there's probably people at work but being a trainee and all I don't get it meet them yet haha
