Stars Sign On ??

Hello everyone,
How would a new controller get a sign on in stars terminal so they can set up Preferences set? My fellow coworkers don’t remember how they got theirs. They have been here forever and I’m new. lol.

Apparently since we are getting the stars feed from a different facility it has to be done through that facility. I was trying to see if there was a work around. Maybe like just entering something on the keyboard to create the sign on initials. To no avail…hopefully they won’t take too long to do it so I can stop manually changing my preferences each shift.

A workaround we did at my facility was to use 1 guys sign on and create multiple pref sets for each controller and save it as their initials. Say the sign on initials are AA, pref set 1 is named AA, pref set 2 is BB, pref set 3 is CC etc. The same initials are always signed in and you just have to remember which number is your setting.

Or hit the pref set button, the "CC" or whatever it's named. Then enter. It used to work atleast, haven't tried in a minute.

That actually is a very good idea!!!! I’m going to recommend this tomorrow
 
At my facility you can just sign on as an unused name and it’ll give you the option to create a PIN when you save your first pref set. Guess that’s not universal.

Does literally anyone use a PIN that's not 1111 or 1234?

Mine was set up by the time I started training on LC. I believe MX sets it up. At least at my facility. Your sign on should be your operating initials and facility code(let’s say it’s 5.) And I think the password is your date of birth. I think you need the password to save your pref set. It’s been awhile since I last set my scope up.

For Example: Sign On- RT5. Password-010190
