So those of you that have state mask mandates, how does your facility circumvent that

I have to walk through the terminal which is a “public place” to get to work so technically I have to wear one through that but not at the facility itself. Apparently it’s a $500 fine here in MI I was told today... I wasn’t wearing my mask today and got yelled at by someone... I told them to send me the bill.. guess we’ll see if it ever shows up but I’m betting my odds are good.

So at facilities where they are talking about bringing back OJT soon... has anyone heard on if trainers or trainees will be able to "opt out" of training? I know I am applying logic and thats not how decisions get made, but why would it be ok to train when its so bad or dangerous that lots of people are permanently on excused leave? How could training start until those people are forced off of the infinite govt cheese wagon! ?

As silly as it sounds, the only opting in/out that I’ve heard about is with high risk people that are on EA. I guess they can opt in if they want or stay on EA.

Of course you can opt out of training. Just like trainees could “opt out” of going to ZOA, ZLA, or ZNY straight out of academy! Except the agency probably uses a different term like “termination” or something

We’d have trainers say they wanted a “pro day” all the time to avoid training, so yeah it’s possible

I hear zoom classes start Monday for one of the centers that hadn't gotten it rolled out yet. Zero talk of bringing trainees into the building, and they've stopped talking about chasing a waiver for the (not high risk) folks over 120 days.

It has been open since 6 July for classes that were there when it shut down. A tower class that did online basics just started this week too.

Of course, I still have a trainee. We tried to get his last dside raise in March but they wouldn’t waive his minimums. Missed it by 5-6 hours.
