I figured. I hope it doesn’t come down to that. Waited 2 years to get in and then being laid off would blow. They would definitely start with shutting down the academy and laying off people there first.

The contract says they have to shut down the academy first. Which is why I think the rif talk isn’t true. They would definitely start with shutting down the academy and laying off people there first.
You can’t just lay people off indiscriminately. Contract requires notice from the agency and for them to negotiate the terms.Just to further speculate, I wonder if all this had anything to do with the potential for a shutdown in a few weeks. Seems odd they want everyone back just over a week before the CR is set to expire. Maybe the agency said anyone’s who’s on EA going into a shutdown will just be laid off or something.
I'm basing that off how much my district wants everybody back. I'm not at an enroute facility, so the thought process and inner workings at the facilities that the leadership really cares about, I'm clueless about.Stinger thinks they will be recalled
This shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. The administrator and deputy administrator are both trump appointees.Found this from a poster on reddit recently. not sure how much merit it has, but figured it would be worth posting here
"A friend used to work at headquarters and still has contacts there, he said that the higher ups (senior leadership level and higher) don’t give a fuck about Covid anymore. They just don’t want to hear about it and don’t even want to hear it’s a problem anymore. Take this for what it’s worth"
They care enough to do atc zero cleanings 5 days after a positive caseThis shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. The administrator and deputy administrator are both trump appointees.
*who are probably both pissed that they’re about to lose their jobs. This shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. The administrator and deputy administrator are both trump appointees.
Natca would have them by the balls for hazard pay if they didn’t. Which with how much they are cleaning it might be worth it to just give it to us now lol. They care enough to do atc zero cleanings 5 days after a positive case
They’ve prolly spent a year of hazard pay at my facilityNatca would have them by the balls for hazard pay if they didn’t. Which with how much they are cleaning it might be worth it to just give it to us now lol.
They realized their Harvard map was way to restrictive.Personally it does sound like a scare tactic to get everyone back in, would be strange to fire everyone knowing the gaps they will have years to cone

The rif is such fake news. Why would a funded federal agency fire people? It doesn’t have to like turn a profitSurely retirement packages, furloughs will be offered before a RIF

The FAA big players honestly doesn't care about anyone not at a center or big tracon. Even some of the Core 30 airports are an afterthought.
I totally think this is true. Think about it, When cases were going down NATCA and FAA thought the spike in cases was over and we were in a downward trend. Came up with this brilliant plan and now realized, we are all screwed and we can’t continue to go atc-0 day after day. They tell us to stay home and don’t go anywhere, fear monger us that it has lasting effects and could play a part in our medical later in our career, and then push UNUM...They realized their Harvard map was way to restrictive.
