Will NATCA and the FAA extend the contract?

some of you are so blinded by your political zeal that it seems you're hoping things are terrible for us, so you can say "I told you Trump is horrible!"
LMAO: He raped a woman and tried to overturn an election. Then he convinced his sheeple supporters that the judges and juries were the problem, not him.

Why would I think any and every bad thing he could do to us would convince the infantile minds of those who supported that douche and voted for their "values" that "Trump is horrible"?

The people who voted for him will rationalize any worsening conditions. If we had to work 8 hours straight and ask to use the bathroom, they would say "it's more effecient! YAY!".

Project 2025 is pretty clear on its plan for unions and page 632 discusses the plan for the FAA.
I don’t follow politics too closely but didn’t Trump say he had nothing to do with this and distanced himself from it?

I don’t think we should not renegotiate just bc trump’s in office.

Yknow, patco support Reagan, he was a union guy, then he slaughtered them. It doesn’t always go exactly how you think it will

He said that because on the whole he knows it's widely unpopular. Lots of people working on it are/were part of his administration.

"Vance has deep ties to the Heritage Foundation, and in particular to Kevin Roberts, who has been president of the right-wing think tank since 2021 and is the architect of Project 2025. Vance has praised Roberts for helping to turn the organization “into the de facto institutional home of Trumpism” and has endorsed elements of Project 2025. Vance is also the author of the foreword to Roberts’s upcoming book, Dawn’s Early Light."

Trump has openly praised the Heritage Foundation and their recommendations.

Yea he has no idea what it is.

He did in fact say that.

However his VP said this about the authors “the heritage foundation has been the most influential engine of ideas for republican from Ronald Reagan to Donald trump”

In a 2022 speech at the heritage foundation trump said this before the mandate was dropped “They’re going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for what our movement will do”

Also, Ginny Thomas received nearly 3/4 of a million from the heritage foundation for doing god only knows what. Look who is his biggest supporter on the court is.

You will see how many people trump hires from the heritage foundation. Tom Homan just to start. As well as many former administration employees including cabinet secretaries, ambassadors, and a deputy chief of staff from last go around, who partly authored And are part of the heritage foundation.

So trump can say that all he wants, but his hires and obviously his own VP and his own words are going to be listening to the authors as his MOST INFLUENTIAL set of ideas driving his decisions even if he isn’t directly involved.

All of trumps judge appointments from his first term were from a list that heritage gave him. It’s not a stretch to think that his policy positions this term won’t be the same way. He doesn’t have his own policy ideas. He just has grievances that a lot of people agree with and that’s why they like him.

Let's tell all the facts of 1981, not just the NATCA talking points.

In a letter to PATCO president Robert Poli in October 1980, Reagan wrote "I pledge to you that my administration will work very closely with you to bring about a spirit of cooperation between the President and the air traffic controllers"

However, PATCO asked for too much while thinking they had the upper hand. They would have gotten on of their two demands, not both.

It was either a $10k pay raise or a 32 hour work week. But they demanded both, and PATCO bought the farm on it.

Lesson to learn from this, know what you can get before you ask - and you shit stinks like everyone else's does.

This is what people don’t want to think about.

Knowing what you can actually get before throwing everything else away.

Imagine if they took the 32 hour work week and lived for a raise another day

This might be interesting read for you. Inspector general audit report about the costs of the red book.

Also

So the White Book to Red Book cost increase was $699 million dollars or the cost of about 8 F35s (google search cost). Blaming federal employees and insulting us makes for good election campaign material but the reality is a pay increase is peanuts in the grand scheme.

The FAA doesn’t buy F35s

Yeah i thought i could find it in natca library but I guess that's not around?
Found a copy of the White Book through AMAS - Aviation Medical Advisory Service. (I’ll include a plug for them, as they’ve been incredibly helpful guiding me through multiple complicated medical situations over the years.)

Here is Trump speaking on air traffic control in 2017: Trump on ATC system
It should start at 3:35

At 9:45 he states something along the lines of "Air traffic controllers are highly valued people and in this new system they will have more financial security, more career opportunities, and far, far better equipment to work with".

Maybe it's not a bad thing?
