Will NATCA and the FAA extend the contract?

You mean when they said you could even die in a motorcycle crash and if your corpse tested positive for Covid at the coroner’s office, your cause of death would be listed as Covid? Yeah those death toll numbers were real solid…
Spreading conspiracy theories?

Go listen to the coroner episode on approved white wing podcast bro Theo Vonn

Real question. Should I leave this January or give Nick a chance? The day 1 pay seems like nothing happened
You can stop your dues allotment in January, then start paying directly. That puts you in a position where you are still a member in good standing, but you will have the ability to stop paying at any time.

Is it through the natca site? I have not heard of this

Spreading conspiracy theories?
Not one to spread such things, but I had an ER visit (top 30 in USA medical institutions) in 21 and they marked I had COVID.

They never tested me, mentioned it to me, but they marked it in my records. I did not catch it until I was personally reading my records for flight surgeon submission.

There definitely were some sort of shenanigans going on. Again not a conspiracy theorist.

The SF1188 doesn't get you out of NATCA, it stops your dues from being paid out of your paycheck. After a few pay periods of this if you don't pay NATCA directly you then get kicked out of NATCA for non-payment of dues. So, if you submit the 1188 to your payroll person, and start paying NATCA directly, that will result in you being month to month with NATCA.

That is because hospitals were paid more for covid patients. As a business decision it makes sense on the hospital's part.

I wouldn't be basing my decision to leave NATCA on the lack of day 1 raise, but rather the complete lack trying when it comes to garnering support from the public and FAA leadership on matters of pay and staffing.

That October 18th NATCA email that explicitly excludes mentioning pay particularly infuriated me: "This year, IFATCA’s theme is "Invest in People: The Future of ATM." At NATCA, we couldn’t agree more. Proper staffing, benefits, working conditions, and training is vital to maintain the safety of the flying public."

NATCA has allowed the public to grow more angry at us and rage at predominantly fake problems (DEI, anyone?), instead of ensuring they understand that the incidents they are seeing are mostly attributable to fatigue, lack of staffing, and a decline in overall mental health (if you're struggling with the price of eggs, I can't imagine it's easy to focus at work... not to mention housing costs).

We needed to be on top of this a year and a half ago, and more and more I'm understanding that ALL leadership... both on the FAA and Union side... DO. NOT. GIVE. A. FUCK.

But the good news is, there's always the chance an unelected billionaire will be triggered like a little bitch by something one of us says and use his granted authority to put us all out of our misery.

Huzzah!

Bullshit.
Some people suck at the job. The SWA squeeze play with traffic on final is a perfect example. Attributing that incident to fatigue and lack of tools is bullshit and hurts the bulk of the workforce that does a good job.

Being labeled a conspiracy theorist in recent years has become a badge of honor.

People want to blame anything else other than personal responsibility. Austin with that squeeze play, DCA with their runway crossings they blame on "fatigue" rather than controller being dumb and unqualified.

Some people want to ignore that under Obama the FAA changed their hiring practices and added the biographical questionnaire to increase diversity rather than merit. The FAA is being sued and will likely lose since they admitted to doing this. Oh and the FAA got investigated because they changed the hiring due to the Coalition asking for it to be changed then helping it's members cheat on the test by giving them the answers.

Interesting read where the FAA admits to doing this and the terrible logic: https://www.faa.gov/sites/faa.gov/f...rters_offices/acr/Barrier_Analysis_Report.pdf

Now thanks to Jamaal it's harder to wash people out too. I'm sure some of you saw his facebook post essentially calling anyone that didnt vote for him as racist. Why do you think we've been in the news nonstop last year? Not everyone deserves to certify.

There has been a major decline in the quality of CPCs
Decline in the number of quality controllers, yes. In my building we have several young trainees that have every indication they will be good. Same for some recent checkouts. The problem is the rising number of ones that don't have a prayer.

Same. There’s definitely a fair amount of CPCs that have no business being plugged in. And it falls on the strong controllers to work harder to pick up their slack
