Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-20-ALLSRCE-65607

I doubt it’d be an issue and even if it was, I’m sure they’d just question you and you could explain exactly what you said here. Or just have him fill it out and send it back and then email your security contact letting them know what’s up ahead of time. When did you submit your eqip? I submitted mine on dec 4 and my employer hasn’t gotten anything yet so I’m just curious of your timeline
Did my EQIP 11/24. Thanks for the thoughts!

I got an email from the medical email requesting information regarding seasonal allergies. Just a questionnaire and a personal statement with no doctor visit required. I guess after they receive that I hopefully get cleared.

Ugh I’m waiting on them to email me asking for more info about my postpartum depression. My AME told me it’d be no issue in getting cleared, especially since it was 4 years ago and I was only on meds for a month and it was clearly pregnancy related. But he told me I’d most likely be asked for the records regarding it. When was your medical? Curious on your timeline as well. Mine was dec 14th and I’ve heard nothing yet

December 14th was my medical. Got everything done in the CIL. The email was actually received Tuesday but I didn't see it until I typed faa in my Gmail. I probably would be cleared if I did it this week but I probably won't hear anything back til next week after the new year.

I had my medical on dec 14th as well, but my mmpi is on Jan 4 and I know that’s part of the medical so I’ll probably hear after that.

I'm sure it'll be coming. In the beginning of December I submitted my pre-employment worksheet and within a week I got e-mails about two medical conditions listed on my worksheet. After submitting documents about my two conditions, I was then asked to provide a form from my eye doctor because on one of the forms my doctor filled out it listed I had LASIK and they missed it when I had it listed on three other forms. The irony is the form they want filled out is exactly the same information the FAA doctor submitted a week ago when I had my medical.

Interesting. I submitted my pre-employment worksheet on Nov 24 and have heard nothing. I’m hoping since it was over 3 years ago and I clearly indicated it was pregnancy related and explained it on my pre-employment worksheet that they won’t need anything ?? We’ll see!

It depends which flight surgeon reviews your paperwork. Different flight surgeons work at a different pace, have different priorities on what the need to complete etc

Correct. I was just curious about other’s timelines and mainly just hoping I continue to not hear from them in hopes that I don’t require additional paperwork.

Hi,

New here and looking for some advise/help/insight/opinions. I applied to this bid so thought this might be a good place to post my question. Please forgive me if it's not.

I know the "hurry up and wait" and "continue with life as normal" but therein lies my dilemma. While waiting for my ATC dream to become a reality I've been going to school online. Fast forward to now, I have submitted everything for my background and medical except for my MMPI-2 which I will complete January 6, 2021. I know that I have more waiting to do.

My question is, if I am enrolled as a full-time student (only two classes because I do 8-week terms as opposed to 16-week semesters) and I get a FOL do you think balancing the first few weeks of basics and two outside classes is do-able? (Once I finish the courses I would put school on hold for the rest of academy.)

I suppose I'm worried that if I put school on hold now and don't get my FOL for another month to two months, I'll have wasted a term, but if I am a full-time student and get a FOL in the next few weeks I won't be able to balance school and the academy.

I guess the real question is, has anyone that received a TOL in 2020 also received a FOL? And if so, what was the time-line between submitting your documents and getting your FOL?

It’s likely you won’t go until summer at least. Also HR ha been known to offer later dates to those with reasons for the request. In the meantime you can slow down your own paperwork and turn it in towards the end of the requested deadlines.

I don't really want to slow it down, just trying make the time-lines meet up... aka do the impossible. Worst case scenario do you think it's possible to balance two classes with the academy for a few weeks or is that just asking to fail?
Good to know about asking HR about pushing out the start date though. I just don't want them to think I don't want it, ya know?

I would suggest letting your HR rep know what date you finish the term/semester and they'll work on giving you a class that starts after you finish up since you don't want to slow down the process now. For the 2019 bid I told my rep my expected graduation date and she gave me an academy date 2 weeks after my ceremony. I would also say that you definitely have a couple of hours of free time every day during online basics to work on your other school work but I wouldn't overdo it, especially if you say this is your dream job.
