Not officially, but my medical clearance person said the FS reviewing my file noted that they might recommend I get a full psych eval. For anxiety. I think they might just be cautious with any mental condition. Rather than wait for them to officially ask, I'm just getting it done now.

Not too worried about it. If they couldn't hire people with anxiety they wouldn't hire any millennials ever.

This is honestly the easiest way I can explain it. Downwind and Upwind will be determined based on the aircrafts position. But if you get into tower, you’ll easily understand which is which after going through 3D + TSS.
By definition for downwind: The downwind leg is a course flown parallel to the landing runway, but in a direction opposite to the intended landing direction. Aircraft will land and depart upwind.
I could be wrong but if you’re a visual learner like myself, you’ll easily understand and will be quick to identify it at the academy. It’s not something most students confuse unless there has been a wind shift which only happens in one specific scenario in Tower.

Also, in regards to why aircraft land and depart upwind is because they need lift to fly and it’s all relative to the wind. In particular for takeoff and landing you need to do both into the wind specifically because they’ll use much more runway if you takeoff and land downwind.
Also your landing speed will be too high if you land downwind and you could use up too much runway and possibly run out of runway because you won’t be able to stop.

In the TSS, they make it critical to understand utilizing upwind & downwind extensions for intersection departures or runway 16 departures so you can hit your intended gap. It’ll definitely help you in the future.

Ahh Fayettenam… good ole days at Fort Bragg.. enjoy your time out there. I did tour that facility when I was there and got to work with them for the day. They have a GCA on the bottom floor of the tower. Seemed like good people though. That was also 4 years ago.

Your upwind is essentially flying the runway heading. If you take off and a controller says “extend upwind, will advise” that means to just keep flying straight after takeoff until further instructions. You make adjustments to your traffic pattern for spacing for certain aircraft.

Just dropping some recent information from my HR rep. She informed me that classes are filled and are waiting on the next assignments of class dates that will continue from October 1st onward. (Cleared on March 19th and was told to expect a late fall class date or LATEST very beginning of 2022)

Haha yeah I’m gettin the whole scoop from everyone. I can make anywhere work, I’m pumped to get goin and I was Navy so I know about military towns. Not familiar with what a GCA is though.
 
Still can’t get a hold of anyone including the faa adjudicator and my security poc. Trying to call aviation careers to see if I have a security poc change. What’s the best time to call since I never get through?

I would recommend you wait, as the doctor may require specialized training in aerospace medicine/be on their approved list of providers
 
I didn't realize that this was probably bad at the time, but for the employer questionnaire my supervisor said she didn't want to make a mistake on the scantron so she asked me to fill in the bubbles, and then she looked it over and signed it herself. The answers were what she would have bubbled in. Is there any issue? I'll let security POC know.

Thanks bro. I was cleared 2/24-ish (I have heard conflicting dates). CG told me I was going in October. Cant' wait for the assignment. ATC gods will probably give me Enroute over Terminal because I asked a tower question lol.
