Does anyone know anyone they work with that they are confident will quit/retire rather than get the shot? I work in a tower with like 20 people and there’s one person I think could quit but I’m not sure they will.

A Supe said they would but I doubt it

I think there's 3 or 4 possibles in my fac but other than the guy who is retirement eligible and has a great side hustle (honestly surprised he's still here tbh) I doubt any of them actually do it. It's all posturing and virtue signaling.

When the rubber meets the road the numbers will be low. Under 1%

One guy I know was going to get an extension, but decided to retire instead.

I support illegals having a pathway to citizenship by paying backtaxes plus a higher income tax rate going forward for a set period of time since they broke the law to be here, but I don’t see why we should expend resources to deport them.

I don’t see why we should spend resources keeping them

Why spend money to kick them out when we can earn money by making them pay taxes, especially more taxes than you and I? A set date needs to be established for an amnesty period to prevent this going forward, of course, but it’s a win-win compromise in my eyes. Both sides get something they want, but not everything.

Where have you gotten that they would pay more taxes than you and I? Either individually or combined?
1. There’s no vetting process when they come illegally, unlike LEGAL immigrants do before coming here (VISA paperwork/interview).
2. Illegal immigrants cannot and do not get a Social security number, unlike LEGAL immigrants are able to.
3. Without a SSN can you apply for a job and pay taxes or would you work on the side/under the table?
4. You’d be surprised at the amount of LEGAL immigrants who do not condone illegal immigration becaus LEGAL immigrants actually have to work for it, pass interviews and pay, sometimes, thousands of dollars (currency in other countries are lower than the dollar so they have to work their asses off to pay in dollars).
5. This “do good” feeling people get without thinking about protecting/helping their own citizens is insane.
6. Illegals already have a process where they can apply for a workers number, similar to a SSN I believe and it also takes them years for their day in court to explain their case and be approved or denied pathway to citizenship.
7. “Just give them citizenship” robs the legal immigrants in a way you do not understand.

When I said they should be backtaxed and taxed going forward for a certain time period more than legal immigrants/citizens.

Background checks could be a part of the amnesty program.
2. Illegal immigrants cannot and do not get a Social security number, unlike illegal immigrants are able to.
What?

They would get a SSN as part of the amnesty program.

Exactly, thus the penalty leveed on the ones who came in illegally.

I think higher taxation of a group that leads to more tax money going around is a good thing, you don’t…?

6. Illegals already have a process where they can apply for a workers number, similar to a SSN I believe and it also takes them years for their day in court to explain their case and be approved or denied pathway to citizen.

Sounds like a process that needs to be improved to benefit all parties involved.

7. “Just give them citizenship” robs the legal immigrants in a way you do not understand.

That’s why I don’t approve of “just give them citizenship,” it’s more “agree to this process of being penalized for committing a crime to stay or get deported.”
