Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-22-ATCEXP-76330

This is the message I received with my TOL confirmation email.

"Thank you, your TOL documents have been received. Since we are limited in the number of individuals we can start in the clearance process each month, your HR Specialist should send further instructions within the next 6 months."

This is interesting

6 months! wow... that's... ridiculous to the say the least. All to hopefully not be offered a garbage list at the end of all of that.
You've said it numerous times about numerous things in this thread alone: "no rhyme or reason."

If anything, I think everyone should be patient. The reality is, it's not going to be a rapid process. If you separate from the military soon, work at a contract tower, and get yourself some more experience. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

We also should likely give the HR reps some grace. They aren't dealing with solely our bid. They are still working with people from numerous, previous bids, both off the street, and prior experience.

I’m not blaming the HR reps I know they have their hands full, it’s just a shame the FAA / gov’t is given limited resources to do their jobs.
A lot of places I know of or have friends at are hurting for staffing or the staffing numbers are skewed to where it looks like the facility is staffed yet there is endless OT.
Guess everyone should buckle up for the ride!

Good luck to everyone who got TOLs. Hopefully you all get placed in facilities you like. As a prior experience guy, I typically follow these threads (been in the agency since 2019) and I’ll answer questions and share any knowledge that I have to help you along the way

I do know that I have the same HR specialist as my OTS bid and I was in a discord with that group and they ask every question they can think of and call every single day asking for updates. Patience is the best virtue to have with this process.

coming from the person who already received their TOL confirmation ?
but i agree, calling HR certainly doesnt speed up the process.

I think the most assuring thing at this point is receiving a TOL in the first place. Now it’s a waiting game. You’re waiting on confirmation and I’m waiting on my next step, which could take 6 months from what the email said.

Hurry up and wait is the motto. It doesn’t really change, even after you’re in…
