NATCA leadership on those leaving the union

PAC peaked around $9.6 million and bottomed out at $8.1 million as of this past winter. NATCA says it’s because of the lack of their ability to educate new hires of the PAC due to COVID.

Lol. It’s like when they say all those hundreds of people left the union over “just one issue”.
Educating new hires?. I'm at a lower level facility that is very close to a few big towers, a 12 tracon, and a 12 center. In 7 years not 1 person has even mentioned the PAC to me. I only (vaguely) know of what it does from these forums. Most of my coworkers have no idea of it either.

No solidarity events here even with big natca close by.

Yeah no one has ever mentioned the PAC to me out of the blue. I asked a coworker about some short or something he has and he mentioned the PAC but you can't talk about it at work. Kind of surprised it wasn't brought up at union meetings or maybe it was and I just missed it.

My facility union doesn't talk about it on federal property because it involves politics. Only off-property events.

You guys have off property events?

Aren't you at a center? I would think it would be common at a huge facility to do that. My last facility was a lower level TRACON that used to host events right outside the facility at a local restaurant for most union meetings. I think people lived closer to the facility compared to the one I'm at now.

You would think that there’s 3 locals within close proximity that you would have events with each other. Top golf or something. I’m only saying it because your not getting anything for your dues. Where’s all your local money going?

To re-clarify: NATCA is overtly partisan in almost everything it does, and it is hilarious that they draw the line at the mythical and ubiquitous Hatch Act boogeyman when it comes to their sacred cow PAC

This is true, there are basically no longer any huge penalties relating to the Hatch Act now too. It used to be termination or nothing. But now the penalty can be anything, including a phone call asking you to simply stop violating the Act, or a written reprimand. In order to get fired now you basically have to be running someone's campaign on company time using a government computer or having people send political contributions to you .gov email address.

Which is probably a good thing overall, but it will allow anyone who wants to to really push the envelope.

We don’t get shit.

and ofc an N90 mafia member would chime in to protect the shield.
Nah there’s plenty of legit reasons to be pissed at NATCA, no need to go around making ones up. Simple fact is as a government employee the Republican Party considers you the enemy, so to expect any government employee union (with the exception of some of the LEO ones) to not appear partisan on the side of the Dem’s is willful ignorance and denial.

These people hate the government and cannot grasp that they ARE the government
