NATCA leadership on those leaving the union

Well yeah but there's a huge shortage of pilots. They negotiate but collaboration is much more effective try and see the big picture. Are pilots getting huge breaks and stuff? How's the 401k matching? Pension? Exactly
You don’t think there’s a controller shortage? A good chunk of high level facility is on 6 day work weeks. Only difference is we can’t strike. And our union doesn’t give a fuck.

The only motivation for most people to put up with all the BS that comes along with this job is the salary. A salary that’s continually being diluted by inflation with no correction being made.

Not the point. Negotiate is the key word here. At the very least negotiate for improvements in the contract. At the very least talk to the members about it before it’s extended.

That’s fair, I wish they had negotiated as well or at least waited to see what was up before extending. There was zero reasons to extend the current contract when they did. I was talking more about 17% in one jump.

The Agency just told the media last week that’s there’s no system wide staffing shortage.

Bro pilots work like 12 days a month. They literally can only fly 1000 hour a year. Yes they are on the road and have long duty days but they have lots of whole days off

There’s not a shortage of pilots actually. There’s a shortage of pilots willing to work for the shit wages that are paid until you make it to a major airline.

There's not a shortage of controllers actually. There's a shortage of controllers willing to work 6 day weeks, short breaks, and dog shit schedules until they retire... all for wages that don't keep pace with inflation.

Sure, but all those controllers don’t already have their license

There paid pretty well throughout the industry now. It’s the 1500 hour rule that makes it hard to get all the way through
The 1500 hour rule is the only reason you can make $50k at a regional now. But to get to 1500 hours, you either need to pay for them, or do CFI or survey or pipeline etc and make poverty wages.

My 4 year old son just came in from the kiddy pool shaking. Thought he was just cold until he said:

"Daddy, why do u have to work 6 days a week and miss all my games? And why did NATCA not attempt to bargain on the CBA, are we going to be able to keep the house!? Why is everything so expensive, it feels like.the world is ending!"

Heartbreaking ?. They grow up so fast!
