I don’t think we’ll ever be privatized cus we are so critical to controlling the military operations. I’m not sure if they’d want all that contracted out.
Most EV owners have at least one internal combustion engine car as well.Daily driver is most uses for the average person.
It’s just so strange the people that are staunchly against electric. Like spending 250 a month on gas is your god given right as an American and they can try to take it from your. I would love a plug in hybrid pickup. 40 mile battery only. That would be incredible. My commute would use no gas!
I'm living proof of this. Wife has a 70+ mile round trip commute every day; when her ICE Ford Fusion with 180k miles on it started to be more burden than blessing we found her a Chevy Bolt EUV. My custom order Ford Maverick (ICE, non-hybrid) was finally built and delivered last month and it handles my 16 mile round trip commute and longer road trips. Most EV owners have at least one internal combustion engine car as well.
Also living proof of this. Fiancé and I work at the same facility. Both of us drive EVs but hers is a hybrid. Another controller bought drives fully electric after me. Many more have inquired, but have not purchased yet… We have infrastructure built here to charge 110/120 in the parking lot, but the ATM made it his personal vendetta to come after the plug ins. Tech ops and the ATM are lazy AF so they flipped the breaker for the plug ins in the parking lot. No juice available. Want to bring your smoker in? Fuck you, no electric. As if this low level shit show doesn’t have anything else to deal with, plug ins were the number one priority.I'm living proof of this. But for handling her daily commute and all our other daily driving, I'm 100% sold on EVs. I don't have to worry about my wife missing a maintenance schedule and she only has to plug it in at home every 2nd or 3rd day. Whenever I drive it, I love mashing the pedal on that thing and being at 70mph instantly; highway on ramps make me happy.
$20 a month should cover it. Hehe I like how you said FAA Federal PenitentiaryAlso living proof of this. Fiancé and I work at the same facility. Both of us drive EVs but hers is a hybrid. Other controllers here have stated they would go full EV and/or hybrids if they could plug in at work but the existing adopters have been treated like shit from the ATM and Tech Ops that nobody wants to adopt it. Seems like a great idea for a federal facility, especially considering federally mandated all sold vehicles will be hybrid/plug in by 2030+. These idiots at a federal facility can’t even figure out a rate to charge to plug in during the 8-10 hours I’m scheduled at my FAA federal penitentiary.
But it's not necessary to plug in at work.... I have a 60 mile commute one way, and have no reason to HAVE to plug in at work. The only way I would plug in at work would be if it was cheaper than charging at home. Also living proof of this. Fiancé and I work at the same facility. Both of us drive EVs but hers is a hybrid. not everyone has access to charging at their home, or can afford to upgrade their electric at home to install a charger. The government also gets cheaper rates of electricity than you do. Just because it doesn’t benefit you doesn’t mean it doesn’t benefit someone elseBut it's not necessary to plug in at work.... Bet you if we painted rainbow colors they'd get put in faster, oh and called them "charge hers",not everyone has access to charging at their home, or can afford to upgrade their electric at home to install a charger. If you don’t have access to charging at home or your home can’t support a 240V upgrade in the garage, it sounds like an EV is an exceptionally poor decision for you. Why would you buy a car you can’t charge at home, when the concept is based largely around home charging when you’re not out driving? Is it the FAAs job to make your unreasonable choice of vehicle, given your circumstances, work for you?not everyone has access to charging at their home, or can afford to upgrade their electric at home to install a charger. It’s a normal perk to have EV charging at work. Plus it’s in our contract so…If you don’t have access to charging at home or your home can’t support a 240V upgrade in the garage, it sounds like an EV is an exceptionally poor decision for you. Yeah heaven forbid someone changes facilities and has to move or something lmao. Not to mention someone could also just go to a charger and charge for an hour if they really needed it. It’s not that crazy brother, nor did I say it was the FAAs job to put in chargers for peopleIf you don’t have access to charging at home or your home can’t support a 240V upgrade in the garage, it sounds like an EV is an exceptionally poor decision for you. It’s not in the contract. It says they will form a workgroup to think about it. You’re entitled to an outlet for a block heater in places like Fairbanks, grand forks and BismarckIt’s a normal perk to have EV charging at work. Plus it’s in our contract so…
So you have an EV and you change facilities. But the faa doesn’t pick where you reside. Why would you choose a place to live in that doesn’t have charging support, or the ability to support charging if you’re in the market for an EV? You didn’t say it outright but there was quite a bit o it whataboutism. If you can’t charge at home, an EV is not a good choice for you. If you can’t charge your ev at work, that’s not work’s problem. Might be nice, but there’s no obligation there.Yeah heaven forbid someone changes facilities and has to move or something lmao. While I generally agree with the concept of making EVs more prevalent and I do think fed employers should absolutely be offering it if it's a fed priority to go electric as stated above..... this is totally true. Buying an electric car you can't charge convienently at home sounds like a Grade-A retard move. Plenty of hybrids out there that absolutely sip gas and solve a lot of the downsides of EVs to begin with on the range and charging front if that's your case. In fact many people in the know argue the Toyota model of "more hybrids now, evs later as tech becomes better/more available/cheaper" is a bigger net positive for the environment than the current state of production and development. If you don’t have access to charging at home or your home can’t support a 240V upgrade in the garage, it sounds like an EV is an exceptionally poor decision for you. Yes actually it's a reasonable accommodation based on my mental illness (liberalism) also the whole federal government supposedly committed to going all electric right after Nancy pelosi's husband bought a boatload of random electric car company stock. If you don’t have access to charging at home or your home can’t support a 240V upgrade in the garage, it sounds like an EV is an exceptionally poor decision for you. How are we supposed to remain lazy, entitled government employees if we don't get to be entitled to new things too?Anyhow onto the real issue, the government is committed to going all electric (cool with me idc) should employees be entitled to use chargers there for government vehicles?
So what’s going on with the work group. What was the result? It’s not in the contract. It says they will form a workgroup to think about it. You’re entitled to an outlet for a block heater in places like Fairbanks, grand forks and Bismarck
And that still doesn’t answer the question, why would you buy a car you can’t charge at your place of residence? That’s like buying a plane with no license to fly and knowing you are not able to qualify for a flight medical

If only you could drive somewhere to fuel your car. Oh well guess you’re a dumb ass since you can’t fill your car up at work or your houseSo what’s going on with the work group. What was the result?
I dunno I bought a car that I can’t fuel at my residence so what’s the difference?
It takes 5mins at gas stations at every corner and highway exit in America to put gas in your car. When it's that fast and convienent to charge an EV it's a different tune.So what’s going on with the work group. What was the result?
