There’s 289 BUEs at ZMP and exactly 1 requested to transfer. It was approved.
Damn… 1 request out of the whole center? Can’t fathom that considering at least 20% of mine would move if given the chance. Good for them

And you’re right, lots of opinions and most places are short. I think the union and FAA either have forgotten or ignore that most people can put up with a lot of bullshit closer to home though.

Only one request because everyone else who wanted to ERR out is already gone.

They have the lowest checkout rate behind ZOA/ZNY (where noone wants to go), the thiccest and juciest CPC staffing in a frozen wasteland, and are able to release 27? What are they doing that's not retarded like every other center

All the old controllers probably went to the MARC school at Flying Cloud or whatever it was called and everyone else graduated from UND and/or is from the upper Midwest

That low checkout rate stat is skewed by COVID resignations. Success rate was around 80% or better the last year I was there.

If my release date (for example) is 08/20. Is that my last day at my current facility or would the day prior by the last?
Yeah, That would be weird to be released in the middle of the pay period. 9/20 is a new pay period so assuming that’s a typo and you meant 9/20, that’s your first day on the books for the new facility so it’s up to both facilities to work something out to give you proper RDOs for the pay periods on both sides.

My bad, I did mean 09/20. Current off days are W/T.

All depends on your facility's staffing then. They'll either keep you on that and you'll likely have a Sunday RDO at the new facility, or if they're smart and you're flexible they might ask you to split your RDOs to Wednesday/Saturday to give you two days off before starting at your new facility.

Don’t want to talk about everyone else in the NAS tho… just grandstand that NCEPT somehow allows more movement than the old system.

And I don’t want to hear (before you start) about how only 7% of controllers want to move. We both know that’s bullshit and that lots of controllers don’t bother putting in paperwork because NCEPT is a joke. If NATCA really cared about movement they would be gathering analytics of NCEPT and encouraging as many people as possible to file ERRs and show the agency true numbers for desired movement. Instead we get CRWG and MOUs that handicap reinstatements/returning priors trying to get a list.

Just laser in on their argument-
It's such a small percentage.
Why can't we accommodate such a small percentage?

Because controllers are chronic complainers and shoot ourselves in the foot by our inability to shut the fuck up. Movement is contradictory to staffing and people whining about being overworked. Not the easiest needle to thread so instead we get compromises where places that need staffing bypass NCEPT to some extent.

Well it is a big problem. For instance I want to close to a center close to family BUT my level 6 is under staffed.

I found someone at that center that wants to come here BUT they can't lose anyone either.

It's a but more nuanced than chronic complaining since people are career locked.

If you CAN'T be released, you should get the pay if the facility you are requesting after 15 months or something
