The worst is that there is no body that is willing to make the statement public at how supes are in fact not controllers.

They sent supes to DCA thinking it would make it better, and the public opinion is that they're higher quality controllers.
This is so hard to explain to normies. They also believe that if one isn't able to get transferred then that person must totally suck; they think a transfer is a promotion, reserved for those who display acumen and skill. Sometimes it is, but more often it's akin to a lottery.

Management rights. They can hire whoever they want without review from the union. But ‘they’ is national level management. So if the hiring manager selects Bob and Bob doesn’t get it, it’s because of other management. The union has no say.
 
I have a supe that’s so weak that they make a CPC plug in while they do a skills check or check ride. Pretty sure that CPC don’t get OJTI pay for it neither

They do that when they’re not certified in the position they’re giving the check ride on. It’s required. The question is how is someone not certified in a position deciding if someone is certifiable in that position.

That’s definitely not the case here. I work at a mid level facility. They have to maintain currency on all positions

At centers they jsut need 1 r side. The area could have 7+. And it’s normally combined in a way that the sup can’t even work if someone strokes out.

The hiring manager [district GM or AGM designee for hiring an OS] must actually follow the Rule of Many set forth by OPM and evaluate everyone fairly. ATMs can also put forth certain things they want the district to carry extra weight to make it to the final round of selection from applicants’ resume/experience, KSAs, interview or sometimes even their fluffy cover letter.

Management also blocks a lot, out ATM won't let a controller go without a ridiculously long release date. So no one gets selected for anything that might further their career in anyway meanwhile our 12 TRACON has supes going to RTF/TSEW because they're coming from bum fuck dinky tower.
