Government Shutdown

3 million more people did vote for her...just got the electoral college wrong
3 Million is still a very narrow race.

That’s actually not true. All the polls right before the vote had trump winning in the margin of error.
Of course they were wrong until right before the vote, that's kind of the point of what I'm saying. Even then a massive majority reported a Clinton win up until the very end. Latest Election Polls 2016

The polls absolutely nailed this last election too../.

The partisan zealots only make things worse. Just like the country, controllers are politically divided. We need to have resolution to our funding dilemma and be compensated. Congratulations to everyone who has stats, polls, catchy one liners, zingers, witty repartee, amusing anecdotes, et al on the political blame. Meanwhile things seem to only be getting worse not better. The constant need to demonize the other side is why we are here, and this BS blame game makes it clear we will be for awhile. Get off the political high horse. Put aside your hate. And urge both sides to compromise. Thx

I kind of wonder if this shutdown has given any controllers that voted for Trump, voter's remorse.

I imagine just like the biased way you framed the question, those peoples vote may have been crystallized and reenforced by this shutdown; given the perceived intransigence of the other side.... who they perceive as "the swamp".

There is no way out other than comprise.

This is what I've found. They (Natca members that are Trump supporters) want the wall and generally support the shutdown. So I ask them this;

If you support trump and his wall including the shutdown will you opt-out of the natca lawsuit against Trump's administration?

You can't support the wall and Trumps shutdown and then turn around and make money off the same shutdown claiming you were harmed.

Pick a side either you stand with us or without us. Period!

Ps I've yet to get a straight answer from anyone.

Sure they can. They're hypocrites that want everything for themselves and nothing for anyone else.

Off topic, I just found that we have an ignore feature. Now I can stop seeing PushingTin try to push Tea Party propaganda and try to act like the Democrats just need to compromise and everything would be fixed when it's been proven time and time again that Trump isn't going to compromise.

Is it not possible to be for the wall but be against the shutdown? You don't get a straight answer because you didnt ask a straight question. Your question assumes that everyone that voted for Trump was/is for every single policy or decision that Trump has or will make.

If you believe polls are somewhat accurate then you must believe there are people who voted for him that don't support him now. Asking if they regret it is a way more complex question becuase that would mean Hillary is probably president and that's a nonstarter for a lot of people.

Okay... Last time I checked we are shutdown because trump didn't get 5.6/5.7 bn in funding for a border wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for.

The shutdown is directly linked to the border wall.

To be technical, he didn’t ask for the 5, 5.6, and then 5.7bil til after the shutdown. He was fine with the 2.5(I think that was the number) right up until the last minute

I understand that the shutdown is directly linked to the boarder wall. All I am saying is that just because someone thinks we need a wall doesn't mean that they agree or support the shutdown.

I will give you a straight answer. Absolutely not, but the premise of your question is flawed. Unless you presuppose that those people ALL blame Trump for the shutdown solely (like you do "Trump Shutdown"), and that is by no means universal.

Why cant you support a political candidate but also not support illegally not being paid? Furthermore, we pay dues for our union to advocate for our pay and working conditions, why would we opt out when they actually do so? I think a lot of people would actually be offended to be classified as single issue voters like this.

For anyone in the Guard or Reserves, you could try looking into getting on temporary orders; front loading some of the year's drills; or getting on TDYs. Might be a way to keep a little income coming in until the shutdown is over. FAA, or any employer, can't stop you from going on military orders. I mention it because some of the younger troops might be unaware.
Think you can find me a Germany hook up 😉

Point taken but as it has been said before everyone in this country and our union included is so divided I feel like you'd be hard pressed to find a person that feels the way you describe. Like @ColdAilment said earlier, he was wondering if anyone had any voters remorse and no one said anything. I know I haven't found any controllers that have said they wish they would have voted differently.

Oh come on let's be real... He said he would own it... On camera... Numerous times. He moved the goal post. He's bragged about how he's only hurting Dems yada yada yada.

I guess I just don't understand that one or two controllers in every facility that scream that we get paid too much and vote far right knowing those people will eventually come after your (and my) benefits!

It's just baffling.

Enough ranting from me I'll let the thread go back to us collectively bitching about the shutdown.
