Hiring Bid FAA-ATO-19-ALLSRCE-61676

Why are some people getting an interview after even though they've cleared security?

Security clearances take several months to a year to complete. People are given conditional clearances so they can continue with the process while the full clearance is still being processed.

Was told I was all clear early March but haven’t received this email or any type of update unfortunately. May just depend on the HR rep
I got something similar after asking my HR rep. Some reps are being proactive with the information, some are not. But the information should be the same across the board.

Just received a call asking if I'd like to be virtually onboarded May 26th for Terminal. Had been cleared for about 2 weeks before the quarantine hit, but no class date/FOL was offered.

I was hoping for enroute for the better pay possibilities, but all things considered, I'm just happy to be starting this journey after finding out about it two years ago. Applied to this bid 2 weeks before my 31st birthday with an Accounting degree. Looking forward to the change of scenery.

Any instances of someone failing the full background after clearing the preliminary one?

While it's happened I'm sure it's rare. Anything that's of question will be looked at before giving someone a conditional clearance. I would guess the only times that it's happened is when someone has tried to conceal something and it comes out at a later date.

I hadn't received a class date yet or even knew if I had cleared security yet, but I was just called and offered a June 3rd online basics date for enroute.
I was offered June 3rd, but I was also offeredd the option to decline and wait for a regular class date when the Academy reopens. Does anyone know if the virtual basics is just a temporary thing?

My rep said that the ATO will likely make online basics a permanent thing. I agreed to onboard when I got the call.

I wonder when the academy will open back up. I don’t have access to a laptop/computer so I’m going to have to wait until in person classes. Hoping to get to the academy by September.

Basics will most likely be online permanently for the foreseeable future.

It does sound like people that have terminal will stay terminal and enroute will stay enroute since they are assigning people to virtual onboarding classes with a certain distinction. Just an observation.

Is that really true? I skipped the online basics but now i am kinda mad i did. I hope i dont wait 6 months for them to tell me i have to do the virtual online onboarding anyway. Does anyone have any insight to this? I sent my POC multiple emails but no response.

All POCs are still working remotely I believe.

I was going to skip online basics as well and wait for the academy, but now I'm just ready to move on and get started.
