The upcoming stacked leave apocalypse

yes it was just a mistranslation. Archeologists were looking for signs for staked leaves from a tree. Very similar to how people thought the Bible said the end times would be signaled by trumpets but what god actually said was Trump/pence.
well played lol

I try to steer clear of any politics stuff on here, but this is too good not to appreciate lol. Bravo.

Cus you think 40k a year and 16k in a tsp is a few pennies
Not only are you losing out on the compounded TSP, and the 40k delay, your future certs are being delayed just as much, if not more. So it’s more than just the 40k. Sure, there isn’t any guarantee that we’ll certify anyway, but there was also no guarantee we’d pass academy or survive the flight/drive to our facility either.

There are plenty of trainees that arent just missing out on a $40k raise. People took pay cuts and left their families for this career opportunity. I took a 20% paycut and left a roommate to move across the country and live alone. My expenses immediately go up as well. There are so many factors that aren’t being considered in their arguments and it’s just going in circles about how entitled we are to “just $40k.”

the 16k is all the compounded interest on the match over a 30 year career. The 40k is the raise for one single year they are missing out on because of delayed certs.

I only engaged with 32 because they initially complained about the leave, even though he could be taking it right now. He the said it’s money baby leave people blah blah.

you also said it yourself, nothing is guarneteed. You can be disappointed Absolutely but I think it’s petty to complain about raises and pennies on your overall lifetime salary when it’s a miracle that we have jobs Given the reduction in traffic and not one person in any position of authority is talking about reduction in workforce or furloughs or rifs or forced retirements. You have also been receiving for pay for time not worked for months. So you have gotten something, it’s just not the something you’ve wanted. Mom also told me I’d get a cookie.

So you’re in all those closed door meetings which natca refuses to share about and know for a fact this wasn’t talked about?

no, that’s a fair point. But you guys are complaining about pennies that won’t even be there when closed doors meetings take your dollars away. It’s petty and childish and way off base if you are concerned about closed door meetings.

Oh here we go again. Pennies.

Its less than 1 percent of your entire career income and tsp growth Over a 25 year career even less if you go 30. Math you should try it sometime. Do you think this will go on forever?
It’s 33% of 1 years income. Percentages are pointless. Give me yours then if it’s so low

Fine, than the death total for Covid is 450% of my home town. We def need to shut training down forever and fire all trainees, because that’s really bad and more accurately describes how serious the virus is.

currently I make less than you do.
Good for you. Maybe they should fire your ass and contract your facility then

My only complaints on here have been lack of info/comms, and bogus claims from natca, and fear for the future of the workforce and it’s protection. The raise thing isn’t the main concern in my eyes.

At the current rate it’s going, ya I could see this going on for several years. Except only one thing will change and everyone knows what I’m talking about.

I wouldn’t be surprised to find out a contract tower costs a quarter what it would to operate the same place as FAA.

This is probably right, the staffing number would literally be half of what the FAA is so that saves 50% right there, contract towers typically have a ATM and no sups, the pay is less, benefits are lower and the pay ranges are small, almost flat, there are no guys with 30 years in there making almost double what a new controller there makes.
