N90

Facrep told you this? There are conflicting streams of information about whether the 8 and above requirement still exists pending setting up the class in 2018 for those who are from 7 and below
Now that I go back and reread it, I think I initially misread his intent. He said nothing about 7 or belows not being immediately eligible, but did say they'd need "TSEW and the other enhanced training initiatives in OKC before coming to N90". I would assume the other enhanced training initiatives would be the N90 specific class.

Well that sucks. Unless they still
make selections and just wait until those classes are available to release

Congrats and good luck to everyone putting in. I don't envy you guys going into that training program at all lol.

Just for fun, assuming you're a CPC and are at the bottom of the band with rest of US locality, this is how much you'll be making when you first step foot into N90. This is factoring in 50% on the go, 25% CIP and a 31.22% locality. This is assuming zero OT and no incidentals (Sunday pay, night dif, holidays, etc.)
11 - $164,513.72
10 - $160,512.93
9 - $150,567.18
8 - $144,268.39
7 - $138,566.36
6 - $133,406.41
5 - $128,735.43
4 - $123,446.61

Prob get a nice Honda Accord on that money

Let's see...
Make $41K extra (locality and CIP versus here) and pay $17K of that to income taxes... Hmmmmm
Then, use that $24K to pay a significant increase in things such as: housing (rent or property tax would eat another $10K+), car insurance, food, transportation costs, etc. I don't think that increase would allow me to break even versus here. They'd have to max my pay (minimum with locality which would literally equal this current incentive), then give the 25% CIP on top of that amount which would be roughly another $45K, and pay more than $27K to move (most likely $100K like they did in 2008.

You don't get the 25% all at once, even as a CPC-IT I don't believe. You get the standard % and then a little more with each step until the 25% when fully certified.

Remember the CIP and Enhanced CIP go off basic pay only. The top of the band for a level 12 minus locality is $145,637 (as of Jan 2017).
So the initial CIP which runs out of money would be $14,563 for someone at the CAP
and the Enhanced CIP (the additional 15%) would be about $21,844 for a total of just over $35,000. That is for someone already at the max for a level 12 or if you are offered the cap for a raise. That is also when you check out, unless you are a prior N90 certified controller.

Yet, as a CPC-IT there are no further steps other than certification as D1,D2, and D3 don't exist.

Here-
Base: $116K
Locality: $24K (currently 20.7%)
CIP: N/A
Total= $140K ($67.3 a hour)

There-
Base: $116K
Locality: $36.2K (currently 31.22%)
CIP 10%: $11.6K
CIP 15%: $17.4K
Total= $181.2K ($73.1 a hour)

Difference versus now= Almost $42K

Like I said above, it still isn't enough as $17K of that $42K difference will be gone to taxes. Rent/house payment will easily take up another $1K a month. So now, we are down to $12K to pay for groceries, transportation costs, insurance, etc. and the premium of living on Long Island. The only guaranteed difference (after the four years of course of 15% CIP) is the locality difference of roughly 10.5% as CIP can be pulled/run out of money.

What they should do:
Base: $145.6K
Locality: $45.4K (currently 31.22%)
CIP 10%: $14.5K
CIP 15%: $21.8K (guaranteed 10 years not 4)
Total= $227.3K ($91.8 a hour)
Move money: $100K like in 2008

That is honestly what it will take to staff that building, on Long Island, in the short term.

I totally agree!

Don't forget the extra CIP runs out after 4 years. Say goodbye to another $17k and the value is even less to move.

Anyone received anything from the n90 continuous bid?
