The fact that someone would vote for a president based solely on their stance on guns is truly mind boggling to me.
Tell me how else you would defend your other rights? My guess is that you would just roll over, tell them which neighbors to snatch up and look the other way. Look at the concentration camps in china now with slave labor, the concentration camps in Germany of WW2 and the horrific human rights violations that happen every day across the world. If the left truly believed that trump is as horrible as they say he is (forced sterilizations, Hitler and all that nonsense) then they would be much more invested in maintaining those rights.

I mean, I vote more *against* people based on their gun stances. Mildly anti-gun, with every threat they pose based more on assumptions than actual stated positions (Clinton) usually warrants a 3rd party vote, as I typically align myself with Libertarian anyway. This year? Things have changed. This is the most anti-gun Democratic presidential candidate ever, and I’m not sure I can go Libertarian this time.

please dude. ain’t none of these guys playing army out there defending anyone’s rights. Only thing they’ve stood up for recently is not wearing a mask during a pandemic. I’m not anti-gun, but I do think the 2nd in this day and age (at least as written) is obsolete and guns should be treated more like vehicles in terms of regulation and licensing.

Me too! Only regulated for use on public roads/lands, and unregulated for use on private property/to be transported from private property to private property on public property. I could also buy any gun online and have them shipped to my door (ala Ebay motors), only to be registered if I used it on public land.

I don’t know why you’d think that could be perceived as an anti-gun stance, it’s very pro-gun.

Because I don’t believe any schlub should just be able to walk in and buy a gun without a fair amount of training and testing, having to be licensed, their weapon being registered, and the types of weapons being regulated, and a much more rigorous enforcement of many existing gun laws.

Then voting should be held to your same standards. Owning a firearm is enshrined in our Constitution.

Can you explain how it would be obsolete?

nonsense. black people being counted as 3/5’s a human was also enshrined in our constitution. So was prohibition of alcohol at one point. Its why we have an amendment process, so if the people decide something is wrong it can be changed.

you can’t be serious about that when looking at the economy in 2008 and looking at it in 2016

The economy and GDP are unrelated to the relative standard of living, odd part is this is generally a conservative arguement.

I got one for you, the collateral death rate of drone strikes under the Obama administration were atrocious.

That’s not treating guns like cars, then.
idk what you’re trying to do here but it seems very disingenuous to try to invalidate his argument based on semantics. He didn’t say treat it exactly like owning a car he was pointing out how driving/owning a car requires registration and formal training.

You neither need training nor registration to purchase a vehicle, and I doubt they'd flag a person for a no-knock raid and murder them through a window while they're sleeping next to their pregnant girlfriend.

It's a poor comparison at best to even say "like cars".
