2024 Pay Calendar and Pay Tables

Don't let ZDV hear you saying that, they think they're the only 13 in the NAS
Literally no one believes that. How about some numbers? ZDV ran more traffic this year than every other 10 by a significant rate. They ran more than every 11 besides ZMA, ZJX, and ZHU which should be 12s. ZDV ran just shy of ZAU, ZOB and ZID which are 12s. Tell me again how they deserve to be a level 10.

Maybe off topic but curious how a center overlying level 12’s is a lower level? They feed all the same traffic in/out. Is this what abacus is supposed to fix?

I’m still a bit confused on how raw traffic numbers at a Z equate to a difference in level. Seems like it should be based on something like ops per controller or ops per sector or per hour on position. Don’t busier centers have more sectors and more staff(at least a higher staffing number). Like for instance take ZDV, they think they should be an 11 or 12. If instead them make a new center let’s say we split ZDV north and south, each new center running 60% of the ops of before since most traffic would seem to be east-west, can’t be too many ops from North Dakota to El Paso right? Are these two hypothetical new centers level 8s or 9s?

Capped out….they are lucky and do in fact get a raise to base each January. Only NATCA raise is paid out at that level.
Regarding the traffic increase and level change hasn’t came I’m pretty sure everyone agrees with that.
You obviously didn’t watch the video in which Mick Devine said NATCA dropped the ball on all of the 4,5,&6 facilities and that the pay bands are wrong and they have yet to fix things since 2016. I don’t know how much they are off but it’s plain disgusting. They are worthless.
This guy’s oblivious

So people are arguing people should get paid more and then a rumor comes around that some controllers are going to get paid more and peoples reactions are no not like that?

People care only about themselves. I do find it amusing that ZDV has 12s feeding it and isn't a 12. PCT has 8s and 9s feeding it and is a 12. Complexity formula and all that is great. The key is being part of an "important" district.

Ya, so lucky that every year instead of getting a locality increase, they get none, which by the way is a pay cut relatively speaking. Jesus Christ. Oh, and each year the cap gets lower and lower relative to all of our pay bands since it has 0 locality associated with it. It affects more and more people every year.

Center depends on a lot of factors. A sector can be very difficult or very easy and the amount or planes will be only a small factor of that. One sector could be sequencing at 4 different airports at the same time while another is watching a track of 50
Planes fly in a line on their way overseas.

Are you talking federal pay cap? If so I would love to be there and so would thousands more wish to be in that boat. If I was making 212k and still complaining I think it would fall on deaf ears.

All pay bands need to be raised and the pay cap needs to disappear all together. Just cause it looks like the top of the pay band is a lot to most controllers doesn't mean it shouldn't be raised or removed all together. Before all these pilots just got 30% raises they were still topping out close to 400k a year, but they were still outside of airports picketing and asking for raises in front of customers that most likely don't make close to what they make.

Just cause 200k is plenty to live on doesn't mean that's what our pay should stop at. Pay is dictated on the benefit we provide with our job and should reflect how none of these airlines making billions would be able to operate without us.

I agree they should raise the bands and the federal cap. The comparison for private company to us federal employees is not an accurate comparison, we chose to work for the for the government. NATCA has work to do.
The President of the US only makes 400k if they increased the federal cap to $250k people would still be complaining it’s not enough.

So there is no actual way to determine center levels versus each other. The levels are set in stone and we just argue about it amongst each other while the FAA says yeah we totally will evaluate it one day.

It’s something we need to be very careful about that’s for sure.

I don't care how much any other federal employees get paid in comparison to us. There are plenty of people that get paid more and a lot that get paid less.

I'm not trying to compare our pay directly to airlines either.

But when airlines raise airfare and bring in more and more revenue each year. There is more money for us to be paid. There are federal taxes applied to airfare specifically (and I believe most if not all of it goes to funding the FAA). As more tickets are purchased, and at higher prices, there is more revenue. No reason we should be working more and more planes, with an increased number of passengers per plane, and not have our pay increase in some degree to even attempt to match that. All while our job has an increasing importance within the system these companies operate in

If they increased the federal cap to $250k people would still be complaining it’s not enough.
Also I think the cap should be closer to 300k (if we have to have a cap at all) and the minimum any CPC should make at any facility level should be 100k

Easy, because

If rest of US CPC level 4 pay started at 100K a year this career field would be LIT!!!!!!! Could not even imagine would 12 pay at a high locality location would be.

12 pay at a high locality would probably be……. exactly what it is now. That’s one potential fix to pay that I don’t think people would be happy about. Moving levels 4-6 to 100K to retain new and low level workers but leaving the rest the same as they make “enough”. I’m concerned the videos almost exclusively mention and address level 4-6 pay only.

I was thinking the jumps between levels would remain the same. A "tide raises all ships" kind of situation. Just giving pay raises to the lower levels is definitely a horrible plan. All levels or nothing is only fair
