2025 Convention

Back to the topic at hand:

Did the agency play the biggest chess move and subvert the NATCA ammendment to strip seniority since no there is no waiver requirement to stay last 56?
Where do you get there is no waiver requirement ?

Duffy has been talking about raising the retirement age the whole times he’s been secretary. He can’t make it 61 without congress. The airlines tried to get the pilots aged raised and it failed last year

By making the max age 61 instead of 56. No waiver required up to 61.

Edit: No waiver required = no reset in seniority.

Duffy has sole power to exempt them from the age 56, not strip that legal requirement altogether for all the rest of us.

Yeah essentially he's saying he's going to blanket waiver everyone to be eligible til 61. Mandatory retirement is still technically 56 which would still mean your seniority resets if you stay beyond that.

At least that's how I'm reading it. Which is good because it means Duffy giving everyone an age waiver is gonna have no effect in practice since no one would stay on and lose seniority. Then there's the whole SS supplement which would still be 56 if I'm understanding how they're changing that

You are incorrect here. But if I correct you, everyone will tell me I’m just an idiot. So you keep thinking that. Someone else is here is smart enough to understand this fully.

You two are arguing semantics. Duffy auto approved waivers, not took them away. All that matters is the interpretation (I still don't think it will hold up past the first eeo complaint) Your voice and votes matter as shown in the convention this year, get involved!

You lose your seniority if you become a sup. What’s the difference.

Well I'm actually against that...but feelings aside the union used to fight the supervisors. Supervisors at one point provided more than a schedule writer-the union was a necessity to fight against unfair sups. Now adays you have a valid point what is management 2.0

What was the general mood or atmosphere at the convention? I mean did folks speak up/out? Did they just "play along"? Was there some anger towards the neb?

It was pre ordained by the California region to crush all amendments. They had the biggest population there so it was easy to do. Lots of decent level Fac Reps from others regions skipped it like the PIT Fac Rep because they knew how futile it would be. And NW Mountain succeed, they crushed almost all decent and then ran the clock out by licking Trish Gilbert’s pussy for hours on end.

Western Pacific is all in on NDJH. I have friends from the Academy out there, the RVP Ortiz was bringing NDJH to every facility in the region under the guise of a briefing on Trump Executive orders, when in reality it was a campaign stop for those two that I would assume nobody had to use any leave for, because they were officially there for the "Executive Order Briefing".

Turns out its easy to travel across a region and get votes like that, when you have an RVP helping you scam your way around the agency. Again, absolutely wild that reps from both BUR and ZLA rose in objection to language on Pay and Benefits being added. RVP Ortiz must be so proud of his region, while the rest of us across the country struggle.

As someone on the Western Pacific, even the locals have been pushing how great the union has been despite the general attitude. "Old heads" that actually benefitted from the union are giving younger ones shit for griping while saying they should be grateful for everything the union does for them.
