Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-16-ALLSRCE-49075 Bid

An individual at my first facility had what I believe to be a bad training experience (rough session) and they decided to throw in the towel. An excuse of previously diagnosed dyslexia was thrown around. Fast forward two weeks of standing by for discharge from the agency, the individual decides to try and stay but now has a disorder disclosed. I believe this cognitive test is the one they were required to tale and on their own dime. Ended up failing it and losing the job unfortunately.
Honestly, the federal government could have prosecuted that individual for presumably lying on both the flight physical form and their SF-85/86.

It would have been the worst case scenario, but they should feel lucky that they're only unemployed...

Medical requested a driving record, does it have to be certified or non-certified (doesn't specify)? (POC hasn't answered yet) Also, it specifies 10 year but my state only offers a 7 year or lifetime report, should I just submit a 7 year?

I'd provide lifetime, giving more is always better. Giving less than they ask for makes it easy to be disqualified.

Random question: Does anybody know if they allow pets at the academy housing? My wife and I have a shihtzu and I can't throw him in a kennel for 5 months. Suggestions? Experiences?

I believe I remember reading on Kim's Place's website that they allowed dogs but no cats.

awesome! also, do they send housing info with the FOL or......?

You can wait for the welcome packet, but I was able to book housing with approval from Student Services before I got mine. I think they just wait until your final class list is generated before they finalize it. Helps to book early especially if you're looking for somewhere with limited availability.

The FOL email should have a link to the Student Services website with FAQs about reservations and the CBA card.

Is there anyone else still waiting on their CIL from this bid like myself? Received TOL beginning of March. I reached out to my POC a few times but it's been radio silence other then that.

I received my TOL 3/7 and just got my CIL this week. They are still going out, as slow as it seems...

Filled out CIL and did all the tests during the last two weeks. How long will it take them to call me for the security interview? Does the HR rep tell me about passing the tests or will the news come from elsewhere? And after the security interview, about how long should I expect to hear about passing?

Not sure what you mean. As far as I know there is no security interview. Medical is the one that's supposed to call for an interview but from what I've seen they're just emailing the info lately.

You will have a sit down with a security investigator for your background.

I did not have a sit down with an investigator. My record is squeaky clean though. Seen a few people say they have met with investigators and go over every line in their SF-86 together.

Did they get hired after admitting suicidal tendencies from discussing every line of the SF-86?
