Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-16-ALLSRCE-49075 Bid

Most people finish in under an hour. This isn't a test you ate supposed to think about the questions and analyze. Just go with your gut reaction and move on. If you analyze everything you will more than likely get a Tier 2.

CogScreen completed a few weeks ago, and finally received medical clearance letter on 20 June. Now just waiting on OPM to finish up my security clearance... #HurryUpAndWait

Is anyone else still waiting for a CIL? I received my TOL in Feb, but no word on CIL yet. Should I be worried?

No, you should not be worried. 3,000+ people got TOL's and HR reps can only send out X amount of CILs per week.
It's not a bad idea to reach out to your rep, but they will probably send a cut and paste email saying something to that effect.

Long story short
I am waiting on my FOL for terminal.
I was granted a derived citizenship through my parents 16 years ago. I applied for a U.S. passport to use as proof a citizenship instead of applying for a certificate of citizenship because its a whole lot cheaper and it serve more purpose.
My security POC refuses to accept my passport at proof of citizenship... Anyone have advice?

My hr rep got back to my within a few days, they are still sending them out but are very backed up "
Daniel,

You should be receiving your CIL letter around the end of July or beginning of August. There are several Specialists that have sent out all of their CIL letters and that will leave room for me to be able to send out even more in July. I was one of the few Specialists that had a large amount of applicants that were selected from the announcement and it is taking me a while to get the CILs sent out because of the limited amount of CILs our office is able to send out each month and week"

So after calling my faa ato hr poc yesterday I found out she retired a few months back. I found out from my medical poc that I didn't pass the psych eval test. Bummer. I failed the psych test over three motnhs ago and haven't heard anything back from either the faa hr or medical. Is this normal? I passed everything else on my clearance instructions letter. I'm nervous that the hiring process has been halted for me. I hear once a fail occurs on the psych test it can take awhile.

Hope that's true for all HR reps. I receive the same copy, paste email all the time. Thanks for sharing.

Did you still get the email about being cleared and the delayed facility lists?

On this MedXpress application, it asks

18v. History of (1) any arrest(s) and/or conviction(s) involving driving while intoxicated by, while impaired by, or while under the influence of alcohol or a drug; or (2) history of any arrest(s), and/or conviction(s), and/or administrative action(s) involving an offense(s) which resulted in the denial, suspension, cancellation, or revocation of driving privileges or which resulted in attendance at an educational or a rehabilitation program.

Does this only include drug or alcohol related driving incidents? Have one 6 mo suspension from 2004 for school attendance (~15yo) and another for (6 mos) speeding in 2008 (too many points) where I had to take a defensive driving course to get those points back. Not sure whether I have to list those, doesn't seem relevant to a medical application.

I believe it means you get placed on a Tier 2 psych exam, which I've heard can take up to 6 months.

I included mine because of how the question asks you. i thought it was weird too because the security app only asks for the last 7 years if I recall correctly. AME went over my offense with me and made notes. I would put it to be comprehensive. Mine was expunged and I put it anyway to be safe.

I have done and completed everything this far....I'm waiting on medical to clear....I'm worried a VA disability of ptsd will hinder my process a bit...what y'all think?...it's for sleep related issues..they tacked it up to ptsd...and for some unknown reason my paperwork says occupational and social impairment....which is flat out not true..ive never had any issues of the sort...and I'm sure the psych test would have weeded that out....either way I'm nervous and checking my email regularly

We have had a guy get medically retired for ptsd. Can't imagine if it was documented as ptsd that the medical will clear you for employment... Best of luck.

So there's a few things worrying me about my security clearance, maybe you guys have some insight.

Back in 2007, I was 17 and had a shoplifting case dismissed after doing probation.

Back in 2013, I was lost my job and fell behind financially, resulting in a credit card judgement/garnishment of wages. Also at that same time I defaulted on my student loans due to being broke. It's been taken care of, and my credit stands clean since that hard year.

I was technically fired from that job I guess, because they denied me time off for my wedding, so I stopped going and eventually terminated due to attendance points (not the brightest protest I've ever done).

Do these things add up to make me deniable for security clearance? I've been in good standing legally and financially ever since these issues.

What do you think?

Be truthful and honest when you meet with your investigator. I've seen far, far worse get in on each of your examples. In terms of financially, the only time I've heard of it costing a security clearance is if you are in horrific debt, have essentially stopped making payments, and have no plan in place to get out of debt.

Awesome to hear....

A guy on stuckmic just reported today his security clearance was denied due to $10l of student debt in default and an issue with a previous employer so it is possible to be denied
