Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-17-ALLSRCE-53474

Got the email today that my tier 2 is finally over with. I just need to send in another drug test and I’ll be all good.

Anyone that’s done this before know how long it’ll take for the drug test and everything to get cleared? Ready for the academy already!

I would say about a month until they call you with a class date.

Anyone have updated numbers on how many applicants are left from the 2016 and 2017 bid? I remember seeing somewhere around 600 a couple of months ago

Would be after having received a FOL since that's when the FAA counts them as "hired."
Thanks for the clarification Stinger. I’ve looked at all the classes for terminal and enroute but they have different amounts of students it seems, on average how many students does the academy take a month?

Were you a '16 or '17 applicant?

Congrats! I'm hoping for my FOL by the end of the week and hopefully the same class date. I saw you're staying in antole. What made you decide to go with them over Kim's?

I am bringing my dog with me and don't want to burden any roommates with her. I also want to be close to the academy and prefer living alone. I hope you get that class date!

Interesting, assuming that almost all of 2016 is tier 2 and a lot of 2017 are tier 2 it doesn’t look like they have a lot of available people to fill classes before we get 2018 applicants ready.

So there's 377 Tier 1 people from 2016 that have not received an FOL, and have also not been disqualified?

Apparently, i'm one of those 371 from 2017. I'm not sure if I should feel encouraged or disheartened. I haven't been notified of Tier 2, or disqualification, or really anything other that my file is awaiting flight surgeon review.

I wonder how many of those 2016 kids don't frequent the forum and have forgotten about this entirely, until years later a call from the FAA is giving them a clas date and they go " wait what? that was YEARS ago".

I guarantee most from 2016 are tier 2. And there’s still quite a few from 2017 that have been waiting on FS. I’m going in 5 months for example
