Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-17-ALLSRCE-53474

I got on the referral list for my pool. I never got an email though, did you guys get an email or did you just hear about the referral list on here and check it like I did? I don't want to be missing potentially important emails.

I didn’t receive an e-mail, but I randomly checked both here and stuckmic and saw that both forums were blowing up, so I decided to check. It looks like I did get on the referral list for my pool. I’m just worried that mine doesn’t say well qualified.

Hey, I am new and never posted on here before. I just saw this updated on my application? Did i pass or what does this mean? What should I look for in an email? Sorry I am just unsure what is going on. Thank you

You're pool 2 and you passed.

2016 bid here, the TOL after the ATSA takes forever. And after that, the CIL takes another forever. Once you complete all CIL requirements.. it takes another forever to get the FOL.

Lots of 2016 people are still waiting on FOL's

The wait is very very hard to do mostly because you're in the dark the entire time. I think from my observations, that the 2017 people will have a much longer wait than the 2016, simply because you're all waiting on us to be squared away first.

Stay strong and press on

Do we have any examples of someone receiving "no's" on both referral lists? I received the go ahead on pool 2 as well, was extremely excited but my mood is slightly tempered by the lack of "didn't make it" posts.

Easy explanation for that. People who post on here probably did more preparation then those who don't. If you care enough to be on a message board posting about ATC you probably care that much more than Joe regular guy. Also, it's hard to imagine people getting their denial notices and rushing on here to tell everyone about it. It was like this last year but only 55% passed.

I have seen a handful of no/no applicants. On average less then 3% of people even take the time to post to a social media sites (here, stuckmic, reddit, etc). Whereas people will sometimes open an account to post something positive (TOL/FOL, graduated academy, etc), the odds of somebody doing that to share bad news is few and far between. Be happy with where you're currently at and hope for the best moving forward. For all those that take the initiative to post and follow here I wish you all the best. The FAA has spent millions trying to figure out the personality traits that make up good controllers, while I believe it's simply about work ethic and desire. It takes time and effort to follow, post, study, and prepare and I strongly feel all of you that do that here will have those traits carry with you to the academy and beyond.

It also helps that there is this great forum where people such as you and MJ (and everybody else here, those are just the names that stand out) are so helpful and willing to answer questions that all of us new/unexperienced people have, and where the first reaction to someone asking questions that are so repetitive is to actually answer or give them the resources to find the answers instead of being assholes about it like I have seen on other places on the internet. Thank you to everyone on this forum (and others) that are actually out there to help and educate to further the career field.

i'd like to add that under the account upgrades section theres an option to donate a measly 5 dollars, if you've gotten as much use out of this community as i have it should be a small price to pay to make sure the website can be maintained

edit: i'd donate once more and possibly in the future but now that i've clicked the button once it seems to no longer be available!

Thanks for the kind words.

I didn't think I'd ever need to have the ability for multiple donations, so I just set up the simplest method. Since you've brought it up though, I installed new donation software. The link is in the main nav bar now, and allows for multiple and/or custom amounts. I'll leave both systems in place until I get a chance (tomorrow hopefully) to make sure everything goes smooth.

Timely topic though, because the site is starting to outgrow the hosting capabilities and needs to be upgraded.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to give a rough timeline of how the process went for me. Of course EVERYONES timeline will be different but seeing others timelines helped me get through a tiny bit better. If you have any questions about the process or about what something means, I'm happy to help as best as I can. My boyfriend applied for this years OTS bid so I'll be monitoring this neurotically once again for him. Lol. Good Luck!
