Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Right, I understand there are variables for CIL completion. I am asking this question with the assumption all those steps are done. Is it pretty quick after everything is complete usually or does that vary too?

Just going by last years bid, seemed to be Spring-beginning of Summer that most seemed to get their FOL's. I've always been under the assumption that May-June if all goes smooth

Just called my POC for my MMPI-2. Turns out I was transferred to a different POC that hadn't contacted me yet. Called them and got scheduled for Thursday. It's a 7 hour drive to the facility, gotta love Texas.

Well damn. Guess I can't be even somewhat salty about my 2 hour drive now. That sounds awful ^

Turn in everything and took the MMPI-2. Just waiting to get my medical done on the 27th! I am still waiting for my medXPress form too.

Schedule your drug test now by contacting BAE/EMSI Call Center at 1-866-236-3674.

They are available 24-hours a day/7-days a week. You are required to take a drug test within 5 business days of completing your physical examination.

Was included in my email with medxpress instructions.

I am scheduling it the same day as my physical.

Ah, I still am waiting on my MedExpress email. Thanks.

How soon after your CIL steps are finished/processed can you expect to receive a firm offer letter?

Based on comments I've read on this forum and elsewhere, assuming everything goes well without a hitch and minimal investigation is needed, I think the minimum is about 2 months after physical. I may be wrong but that agrees with the comment made on here about spring/summer. But there is no telling how the government shut down effects this process. Are the people working on security and medical review backlogged or are they freed up because they were working during the shut down and were able to "catch up"?

Also got my Security email now. Fingerprinting info and e-QIP access code/instructions. My medical contact says they're still working through the queue of people that got their CIL last week.

You'll get a call with a class date as soon as your HR rep receives both of your clearances from those POCs, then a FOL later that same day most likely. They'll just slot you into the next available class date, which tends to be 3-6 weeks out, but could be less or more.

Thank you, that is very helpful!

I've searched through and can't find a definitive answer to this question. What should I expect going into the medical exam? I'm not worried about anything disqualifying, I just don't find myself in a medical environment very often so want to be prepared.

Oh the pre-employment interview worksheet, it says it must be signed and dated and returned to the office. By returned to the office they mean emailing the form back right?

You'll get a physical, do an EKG, pee in a cup, take an eye exam, look at color plates, and take a hearing test, and maybe something else that I've forgotten. Then the AME will type a ton of information into web forms and question you about anything you reported previously. Mine was pretty casual and laid back, for what it's worth.
