Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Have anyone's personal references been contacted yet? It seems like the places I put down as current employers all got their OPM forms last Monday, and at least one that I put down as a previous employer did as well—but I haven't heard anything from my references. And I live with one of them, so I would know.

On a related note, my current full-time employer is dragging their feet about sending the form back. And I just gave them my two weeks'. Ugh.

How quickly did they contact your current employer after submitting your sf86? I haven’t had that conversation with mine yet and would rather them find out from me than from the FBI. Lol

I submitted my sf86 on 2/20, my current employer got the letter on Monday, my previous employer got it yesterday. You should probably have that conversation soon.

Would they contact a past employer that I worked for for like two months 9 years ago? Cause I doubt she’ll remember enough to answer all those questions ?

What happens if the employer never responds? Some of them wouldn't even remember--plus the supervisor already left the company..
My point exactly ?
I would hope they at least return it with a "it's been awhile idk who that is" instead of just totally ignoring it

Hey guys, I need some advice to know how screwed I am for the background check.

For undergrad I moved to a different a city for my first year and the landlord that I had there, was a complete slumlord. I am talking rats, roaches, other bugs, no heat, etc. He had guns at some point but had his guns taken away before I moved there because he threatened to shoot police officers and he would just lie and lie about anything and everything. A rat would run right in front of him as i'm complaining about rats? That was our shadows, the building has no rats.

Needless to say, he did not like me very much because I filed complaints against him and because of that, he threatened physical harm on me a couple of times so I had cops called. I do not think they really filed any reports because it was my word against his and he lies. With that said, if he gets a letter about me, there is a very high chance that he will flat out lie and make things up about my background. Will this lead me to not getting a conditional security clearance and delaying me? I am not worried about being rejected because of this, since i'm sure the FBI can look up his past and compare it to mine but I am concerned if it could lead to me being tier II'd.

Situations like this are when and why the personal interview would be important. You will have a chance to share your side. Did you mention this stuff at all in the additional comments blocks on your SF86? If you have not actually filled out and released your SF86 yet just know that there will be blocks where you can add comments about pretty much everything.

For the Medical exam, do we need to bring a physical copy of the form we filled out on MedXpress? Or just the confirmation number we received?

I did not, only received a TOL last week. Should I just list out everything on it? Including details about roaches, rats, etc and having to call cops because he threatened physical harm after I complained about it? Basically, should I give as much details as possible or just briefly explain?

You can put anything you want in the SF86. security clearance thread has all docs in it or linked

For mine, I brought the physical copy but you should be fine just bringing the confirmation number. They asked me which one I brought, so either way should work.

Thank you.

Keep in mind too that investigators are good at determining if someone has a grudge on you, that’s why you have to list a contact for all residencies and jobs. Their job is all about inconsistencies and verifying. If every place you’ve lived said you were terrible, it might be a problem but I think you’ll be just fine.

On the pre-employment interview sheet, how specific were you guys with medication? Im not on any current medication nor have I ever but in past was prescribed an OTC allergy medicine but never filled it and once was prescribed hydrocodone for a really bad sun poisoning, but also never filled that. Also thoughts on common colds, sinus infections, and flu medications. Thanks guys
