Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

On the pre-employment interview sheet, how specific were you guys with medication? Im not on any current medication nor have I ever but in past was prescribed an OTC allergy medicine but never filled it and once was prescribed hydrocodone for a really bad sun poisoning, but also never filled that. Also thoughts on common colds, sinus infections, and flu medications. Thanks guys

They told me that allergies were fine as long as it's not life-threatening and can be managed either by itself or with a medication that's on the go-list (Claritin and Zyrtec is what my AME said), but if you're popping benadryl for your allergies then you'll have to swap out.

With medication in general, I only put what I'm currently on and listed prior conditions in the history section. My AME went over all of the history with me and asked about what meds I was taking for it. But if you've never taken it, then you're probably fine.

The RFS asked for my pharmacy records and so I went to my pharmacy and just asked them for a list of all prescriptions I've ever had filled.

I only reported medications that were long term like topicals for acne. Did not report a one time antibiotic from about 10 years ago. If you never filled the prescription, I would definitely NOT report that. Did not report a common cold and never had the flu. I had no real sicknesses to report or other meds.

What is "RFS"?

Can you just go into any pharmacy and do that? I can't remember if I had any medications in my past and my parents or significant other do not think I have. I tried contacting my previous medical providers, but they no longer have any records on me because I don't go to the doctor unless I have to so I am not sure if I could go to a pharmacy and get it done.

I'm pretty sure you can? I imagine the DEA requires pharmacies to keep records going back for a fairly long time. My pharmacy did it no problemo, just had to go in with my ID and ask for it.

ok thanks guys, so do you think I should include stuff like the flu and bronchitis which I have had, or just focus on major daily medications that were chronic, which i have never have? thanks again

I would report Bronchitis and any medications for chronic issues or to treat the bronchitis. If the flu was recent I'd report that too.

Hmm I guess I will try my local retail pharmacy then though we are talking about 10-20 years ago I am looking at so I am not sure how effective it will be.

The only thing I ended up listing was Zyrtec because i take it occasionally for seasonal allergies and they said you cant take it once employed. They made me fill out a sheet about my allergies and have my doctor fill out a sheet too. It wasn't that bad at all. Seems like they just wanted to make sure the allergy medicine doesnt make you drowsy or incapacitate you.

For the Medical exam, do we need to bring a physical copy of the form we filled out on MedXpress? Or just the confirmation number we received?
For what it's worth, my office only asked for my confirmation number today, but had not received the pay authorization form via fax, so I was forced to reschedule until next week.

Hey guys, I need some advice to know how screwed I am for the background check.

For undergrad I moved to a different a city for my first year and the landlord that I had there, was a complete slumlord. I am talking rats, roaches, other bugs, no heat, etc. He had guns at some point but had his guns taken away before I moved there because he threatened to shoot police officers and he would just lie and lie about anything and everything. A rat would run right in front of him as i'm complaining about rats? That was our shadows, the building has no rats.

Needless to say, he did not like me very much because I filed complaints against him and because of that, he threatened physical harm on me a couple of times so I had cops called. I do not think they really filed any reports because it was my word against his and he lies. With that said, if he gets a letter about me, there is a very high chance that he will flat out lie and make things up about my background. Will this lead me to not getting a conditional security clearance and delaying me? I am not worried about being rejected because of this, since i'm sure the FBI can look up his past and compare it to mine but I am concerned if it could lead to me being tier II'd.

Dont worry about it. The investigators are not dumb and will come question you if he does something like that for your side. I had a past employer talk a bunch of crap about me and I explained it to the investigator. Been in the agency years now.

How quickly did they contact your current employer after submitting your sf86? I haven’t had that conversation with mine yet and would rather them find out from me than from the FBI. Lol
My POC received my forms on a Thursday or something like that, the questionnaire was at my employers on Monday. Super quick.

Why are you putting your landlord down at all? Do you not have anyone else who can verify you lived there? A friend who came over, or something?

Oh... I thought that they contact the addresses that you lived in, including landlords, not just people that you have listed as knowing you there.

When the people we listed as references get contacted via US Mail, who is the sender on the envelope? I assume they are contacted via US Mail, please let me know if I'm wrong.
