Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

were you notified that you did not receive a conditional, and had it overturned because you paid the debts? I was denied a conditional security in March, but was never told why. I started paying on my student loan that was in forbearance, and have been notifying my security POC on updated payments, which she DOES reply to thank God.

No, I was never denied. I had to write a letter of inquiry, submit all proof that I had of paying off debts, financial considerations questionnaire, and a drug Involvement questionnaire which I submitted on 3-28.

Chances are you're waiting just on the FS to check off your medical. I'm in the same boat, I also have LM and have heard radio silence from her since my CIL. A few weeks ago I saw someone who had her as a POC who got a FOL and it was from a different HR rep. I suspect she has retired/no longer works there and a new POC has been assigned to you. I know I haven't been cleared by the FS yet so I'm not too worried about not having contact with HR.
Called the main HR number and they were super helpful and gave me alot more information than I already had. Also told me that LM is still there and still my POC but said I could just keep calling the main number for updates lol. As an HR Director myself, I have no clue why she can't respond.

Because I'm sure they're severely understaffed and the job is a soul sucking desk job. They don't care.

To anyone left in this forum that didn't get a TOL and is looking for 2019's bid, here is an official message sent from a NATCA rep:

"The FAA is indicating that there will be another "no experience" (aka "off the street") vacancy announcement released this summer. Currently it is scheduled to be open June 14th-June 17th, but if the Agency receives in the neighborhood of 7500 applicants they will close the bid early."

Good luck to everyone!

I also read this on Reddit from an FAA employee. Said that it may close up to 48 hours early if they reach their cap! Good luck all!

So simply put, put in your application on that first day because it will close early. It did last year.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it was only open for one, maybe 2 days and that's it.

I was thinking the same thing. Really depends on advertisement. I mainly only use this forum for info but I have seen it on the FAA FB or Twitter via notification but a lot of the time it’s only a few days ahead of time. Looking forward to this round and hoping I do better on the test. I learned a lot from you all on the best methods to succeed so best of luck to all applying!

Reddit is how I found out last year. I don't think the thread he made this year was as big but in my head I'm like, "Shut up I want my chance lol." Will be lots of new applicants coming in.
I decided to call HR again yesterday to see if I could get anymore info about my score besides the best qualified. It makes it tough to decide whether to retake it or not. All the woman I talked to said was "Think twice, you don't want to risk a lower score." I think I'm just gonna keep my score from last year. Any suggestions?

I didn’t want to be a prick but I thought the same thing when I read it a few days ago ? but hey it is what it is. I know I only scored qualified and the lady said just to remember priorities when it comes to the test... I think she knew I had a few collisions but I now know not to worry about the math on that section.

I was struggling with that decision too. However, now that I've graduated CTI and and be Pool 1, I'm going to leave it. Now that me and my classmates (who also scored well-best qualified) are moving to Pool 1, maybe there will be more people taken from that and we won't have the issue we did this time where a lot of us Pool 2-ers had best qualified, but didn't get picked up because the 50-50 rule.

Here’s a question I never really thought about but would opting for pool 2 instead of pool 1, benefit in any way?

I can’t imagine how. There will be considerably more pool 2 applicants than 1. It’s like trying to get your name pulled from a hat with 1k names as opposed to 350.

The odds will be far fairer in the pool 1 pool.

I figured as much but nonetheless wanted to ask :)
