Hiring Bid Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee: FAA-ATO-18-ALLSRCE-57792

Thanks for the input guys. Lucky for me, my wife and kid can stay at my parents if needed. I guess I'm already counting on graduating considering I'm the type of person to just not accept failure, but then again this is a total career change for me. I'm former military, so the drive to succeed without failure is still in me.
I am taking a rough $15k cut in yearly pay for the first year. Which sucks but hopefully the cost of living at my first assignment will be much lower than my current city of Nashville.
I’m from Nashville as well. Just got my CIL today so starting to get things scheduled. Nice to see another person from Nashville here.

On the Pre Employment interview and instructions worksheet it asks you to list all medical conditions. Do I really have to list every time I was injured and received medical care such as a broken arm or is it only serious conditions?

Dang they must still be working late with sending those CIL's.. I figured that it'd be done with for today

I'm assuming with the uncertainty of government funding, they probably want to do what it takes to get all CIL's out as soon as possible. This way even if the government does shutdown, you can get most of the processes started since most federal background investigators are contracted anyway, and as far as I know, the medical team still works as well. MMPI could still be completed too since it's typically at a local facility.

Just got mine 4:58pm CST

So i opened the CIL email, but it looks like i'm waiting for more people to send emails, with the exception of the MMPI-2 exam, which i've called the agent and left a voicemail. Seems like it's another hurry up and wait now.

I actually got my security email this morning about 6 hours before I got my CIL. Seemed strange until I got the CIL and saw what step 1 is.

Yea I emailed the POC for the MMPI. I called twice no answer. I emailed rather then left a voice mail because it’s easier just in case I need to provide proof.

Has anyone been successful at scheduling the MMPI?

Also MODs of this site, would it be easier if we create a CIL thread, for all of us to communicate with each other? Just wanted to ask before doing so.

I emailed the POC for the MMPI-2 and got a reply that they were adding someone else to the email to schedule the test. Haven’t heard back.

Do I earn extra leave?
All federal service counts when calculating how much leave you accrue, including military service. Leave accrues as follows:
  • 1-3 yrs service: 4hrs per pay period
  • 3-15 yrs service: 6hrs per pay period
  • 15+ yrs service: 8hrs per pay period
I read this under the "veterans" tab of the FAQ on this site. If i'm reading this correctly, my 6 years in the military earn me a higher accruing rate right off the bat?
