Sounds good. You should never get back in. Period. And the faa is starting to lean that way.nah you’ll have roaches like me quit and apply to 10 prior bids if need be to get to the right spot

I’ll choose whether I get back in or not. Don’t worry if I dont get a good list here in about a week, I won’t be getting back in ?Sounds good. You should never get back in. Period. And the faa is starting to lean that way.
Everyone’s situation is different, sometimes there is just no way out and you have to hope they in 5-10 years time you’ll have enough staffing to maybe transfer while hoping CRWG doesn’t increase your staffing number (especially at mid level facilities). As for me, I was waiting until I had a DoD job so that 2152 clock could keep countingZI always admired the people who had the passion to “game the system” by quitting for a year, work someplace else, and risk never getting back in for a shot at a better facility.
What do you respect more, people like that, or people who scam hardships to their dream facility?
Or even better plot twist you train your way out of it and play the game, network where you want to go, donate to the PAC and are active in NATCA. Just for some guy that certified a week before ERRs are due to shotgun blasts his ERRs out and get picked over the 5+ year agency guy because of a broken system. I’ve seen it happen.Everyone’s situation is different, sometimes there is just no way out and you have to hope they in 5-10 years time you’ll have enough staffing to maybe transfer while hoping CRWG doesn’t increase your staffing number (especially at mid level facilities). Can I quit today and apply next month?Prior experience bid coming out next month confirmed with HR today ?
not sure.. honestly call HR, they have been super helpful to me. that woulld be so funny if you could, so many people would probably go that routeCan I quit today and apply next month?
As someone who quit a short staffed facility shortly after ncept and got rehired at the exact facility I wanted ahead of hundreds of cpcs with paperwork in who have been and will continue to wait years to get to where I am, I can assure you that I 100% gamed the systemYou are high if you think the agency gives a crap about you quitting and then re-applying. This is %100 natca national trying to save NCEPT’s image. You are just a replaceable number to the agency. You are a means to power and a lifestyle of boondoggle to natca national leadership.
Quitting is not gaming the system. Quitting is losing pay, losing seniority, losing security- there is no guarantee you will get back in.
We had a dude transfer to my busy level 12 tracon, certify on departure (the easy part) then tell the managers he is retiring and to not put him in a satellite or arrival class, he then rides it’s out to get his high 3. <— that is gaming the system, hell the whole high 3 system is gaming the system.
Had another dude certify and leave on a hardship he already had in the works to go back to the region he came from.
One of our support specialists is a sup from a neighboring level 6 up down. Knows nothing about our operation, isn’t allowed to give briefings because he doesn’t know the answers. He makes level 12 pay, guess what? His CIP doesn’t run out like ours!
I am sure there are plenty of stories of people doing shady crap to get where they want or move up to a position they want. If people quitting is what triggers you than get a freakin life.
What's the facility? Couldn't have been that busy if they allowed him to ride it out into retirement with departure only.We had a dude transfer to my busy level 12 tracon, certify on departure (the easy part) then tell the managers he is retiring and to not put him in a satellite or arrival class, he then rides it’s out to get his high 3. <— that is gaming the system, hell the whole high 3 system is gaming the system.
Honestly it’s a symptom of a bigger problem, the NCEPT. As time marches on people realises that they only get one go in this life and spending it with family / being happy at your facility is more important than being with miserable bastards who will die within a year after retiring at some shit hole. ?♂️ I’m still clocking 2152 time M-F and finally got about 145lbs.I always admired the people who had the passion to “game the system” by quitting for a year, work someplace else, and risk never getting back in for a shot at a better facility.

Busy doesn’t have much to do with it. Staffing did though. C90, as a facility, was going over 2 on average of 100 times a month during the summer. A person that can work a few positions was valuable to management short term so they let him chill. When they keep raising the employee contribution to the pension it’s hard not to think about people like that who were aloud to boost their payout without earning it.What's the facility? Was it really that lucrative though? If they were close to retirement when they got there and only making half on the go when they got there I would assume they would've been close to the top of the band from wherever they had left. Since you guys were only taking level 8 and above before, let's assume they came from a level 8. Top of the band at MDW last year was 146k. Bottom of the band at C90 was 152k. Only a 3k raise there. Even if they came from a level 6, it's just a 16k raise on the go. Seems like a lot of effort a little boost to retirement.Busy doesn’t have much to do with it. Staffing did though. Makes sense. That’s quite the concession, things have changed. I’ll return if I get the same deal in writing ?.Busy doesn’t have much to do with it. Staffing did though. Your math is not factoring the 8% pay raise in your example. So a capped out MDW controller ($152,580) transferring to C90 would be at $164,786 upon certification. That’s $12,206 gain, not $3k.Was it really that lucrative though? I dropped a reinstatement package before the process froze due to change in the rules. Received my TOL in October the specified CPC, did everything Drug/Medical/MMPI in November, whacked with Tier 2.Has anyone been hired since the FAA changed the reinstatement process? And if so, can you provide a timeline?
Application,
TOL,
Facility ranking,
FOL,
Entry/first day of duty date
Cheers
