It appears so. I'm just going off of this https://www.faa.gov/jobs/atc_reinstatementsInteresting, I'd check the SOP but I left my laptop at work. Did they change the level issue?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here but I'm pretty sure the FAA has always had those requirements posted but the ATO had an internal MOU or SOP that came out restricting reinstatement further to the 1 year separated and same or lesser level. Unless that changed internally, I would think it still remains in place to deter people from trying to bypass ncept. It appears so. Yeah I will check it on Monday when I go back in.Someone correct me if I'm wrong here but I'm pretty sure the FAA has always had those requirements posted but the ATO had an internal MOU or SOP that came out restricting reinstatement further to the 1 year separated and same or lesser level. A few facilities could temp me, but I am at the point where if I go back I will lose money (minus differentials) and my sweet 4/10’s M-T.If they went back to the old way I bet they could instantly net 100 or so controllers that are just hanging around getting offered trash prior experience lists in cities they don’t want to be in. I’m biased tho and get why they probably will never do that again lol
Every time I see you talk about the DOD gig I realize I didn’t quit the right way. Contract work is absolutely shit lmaoA few facilities could temp me, but I am at the point where if I go back I will lose money (minus differentials) and my sweet 4/10’s M-T.
Go and do not look back brother.Every time I see you talk about the DOD gig I realize I didn’t quit the right way. Contract work is absolutely shit lmao
They will offer based off your experience if you go prior experience bid but you’re not limited to the number max of the facility you left like you are with reinstatement.Anyone know if the SOP for reinstatement also applies to going through the prior experience bid? Specifically only being offered same type of facility
I left the agency for the DOD pushing 2 years ago now. I was stuck at a 5 up down, and my DOD experience (GS12 controller position) bumped me up to Level 9 and below experience level. I re applied on last years prior experience bid and got 79 facilities offered. That being said I turned my offer down and sticking with the DOD. Life is far better and I enjoy work again.Anyone know if the SOP for reinstatement also applies to going through the prior experience bid? Specifically only being offered same type of facility
My atm told us about this 2 weeks ago and went to the nearby facilities to try to recruit. I believe it’s only if you are dod civilian."The FAA is also offering more opportunities for experienced military controllers to join the workforce. Using On-the-Spot hiring authority, veteran controllers will bypass the normal announcement process. Air Traffic managers will be able to directly accept resumes from interested military controllers and help place them at their preferred location. "
How long until they roll this out for ATMs to start accepting apps? lol
that wouldn't make sense for only dod civilianMy atm told us about this 2 weeks ago and went to the nearby facilities to try to recruit. I believe it’s only if you are dod civilian.
I believe the way they do it is they stack your experience vs everyone else they're sending a list to on that rotation. Just so happens some guy from Minot tower stacks higher than all the people from slow navy base etc. Just luck and timing.I seriously don’t understand the legality of placements. Like how are they now allowed to give military any lvl 9 below no matter what their experience but other prior experience controllers won’t even come close to 9’s. So now experience doesn’t matter with placement lol
No you got it spot on with what I was referencing I just truly believe that the hole oh we judge everyone based off of a pool and how you stack up is wild. Military controllers will get insane lists for the next two yrs or direct hire where they want and everyone in the agency and without military experience will get the shitholes. I’m not necessarily against it but I am against them saying placements are based off of experience like they have always said…I’m also salty so take everything I say lightly 😂I believe the way they do it is they stack your experience vs everyone else they're sending a list to on that rotation. Edit: Misunderstood that you were referencing direct placements. I was thinking about the insane list that was posted yesterday by a guy that was "at a slower Navy class D"
The formula for prior experience is weird, at least the one I saw years ago.No you got it spot on with what I was referencing I just truly believe that the hole oh we judge everyone based off of a pool and how you stack up is wild. I agree to an extent. In my case, I wasn’t able to move within the FAA, so I moved myself to the DOD. My DOD facility complexity bumps my qualification level up to 7,8,9 lists. Also GS12 makes substantially more money than a low level. As a former faa employee I get the frustration of people stuck at facilities watching people jump over them, but if the faa wants people back, which they have indicated that they do, they gotta make it attractive. If someone leaves and doesn’t add an ATC facility to their resume, I agree send them back to their previous level. The formula for prior experience is weird, at least the one I saw years ago.
Idk how they determine lists for prior CPCs that left for a while and decide to come back. I hardly see lists of prior CPC only applicants though. But if you were only certified at a 7 or below it makes sense to only be offered that.
