Ah yes that bullshit got old quick. My favorite response was “show me in the facility manual where it states that for training.” Couldn’t care less about military unwritten rules.
Yeah, but you gotta admit it was super funny to see “Brush” defined in 80T-125 ATC Afloat NATOPS.

Edit:124 to 125.

God damn the military was fucking ridiculous. Daily arguments would arise because someone would call brush and someone else would take their chair because “brush” was strictly shipboard.

I heard there was enough good seats for everybody on shore duty.

I was told today to redo my security OPM and of306 forms just because one had jr. In my name and the other didn’t... wtf lol

What confuses me the most was my hr POC told me I was already cleared on security.. lol hopefully just a minor set back.

Oddly enough, I’ve only ever “waxed” floors on shore duty. Quotes because I skated out of that bullshit!

We spent a week on our hands and knees pulling up wax and laying new wax just for our power-hungry new E6 to tell us he gave us the wrong instructions. Had some buddies have to take white rocks in front of our air ops building and “polish” them for 8 hours but fortunately I was on position.

lol where was this?

A facility is manageable trafficwise place has a regular mix of Airline and regional- piston/turboprop traffic. Most of the traffic arrives from and deaprts to STX, SIG, and SJU airports. Airlines that serve the island are Delta, American, JetBlue, United, Spirit, CapeAir and Seabourne.
Cool.

Any DOD people on here get their list? Basically every place for me would be a pay cut even with the save pay. Thinking about asking for somewhere better and declining if they say no. Super disappointed!

Unless you get a place with a high locality(20% plus) it’s going to always be a pay cut initially from DoD to FAA. You are going to lose 5% Atc premium and the difference of SSR (25-30%) and locality pay. Good luck with your request, I hope it works in your favor.

Unless you're a SrA I feel like the majority of us on this prior experience bid will be taking a pay cut. For myself being a 11 year Tech I'll take a significant pay cut initially until CPC but fortunately we have the GI Bill to some what supplement the difference. I got assigned to a level 5 so it hit me much harder than some of these guys getting 6s and 7s but looking at the long term itll be much more beneficial than staying in.

Not sure what you're making now but you won't get better locations. From the past two bids they have been telling folks to take a hike and apply the next bid. Just look at it as a foot in the door with the opportunity to make more down the road.
