The only people you hear talk about DEI are Republicans? You must suck at listening then, because DEI is a democrat initiative that is pushed solely from counterparts of Republicans… So you hear people speak out against it, but ignore the fact that there is an entire political party That pushes it and implements it. Yeah you sound like a well meaning, fair minded fellow, willing to look at the whole picture… Sarcasm if you didn’t get it.

And it’s almost like you didn’t read anything I sent above. I just gave you about four or five precise examples of how these wide spread, federal policies side step equal employment and anti-discriminatory hiring laws. You do know that that air traffic controllers are one part of the federal aviation administration. Yes we are hired after taking a test.. That is not representative of the 30 to 40,000 other FAA employees who are not hired that way. And still, every example I gave you above, still applies to air traffic control hiring practices.

They got rid of The interviews bc the barrier analysis that brought about the bio q claimed that women and minorities did poorly on it, so to make more diversity the study author recommended the faa dump it and they did

You work a job that literally hires people straight from Walmart. Diversity for the sake of diversity might not be fair but it's not unsafe.

There’s no forced diversity. It’s literally impossible under the system of hiring anyone who passes a test

Isn’t that optional? Unless someone has evidence they are letting in minorities with lower scores idk what we are even talking about
Actually yeah I think you may be right now that you say that. It probably wasn’t at one point but I’m pretty sure there could be a “I’d prefer not to say” option nowadays.

Regardless of what any of you think or what any dipshit politician or government official says or does: there is a simple fact here that cannot be overstated.

Hiring, denying, segregating or treating anyone differently based on the color of their skin, or their religion, heritage...etc is wrong. It's the true definition of racism and it's done by bigots both knowingly and unknowingly. Any preferential treatment based on anything other than skill is wrong. There are ways to remove potential biases in the selection process. It is incredibly easy for ATC and the way we do hiring/evaluation is okay, but could be improved a bit with regard to bias.

all these attempts at gaining diversity are ill conceived. The resources should go to removing selection bias. If you think one group overall is unrepresented in a workforce then find the socioeconomic reasons for this and fix the broken neighborhoods that cause these issues. Provide access to an actual career fair/job shadowing program that doesn't suck ass. Fix the broken dog shit education system that values pumping money to prison food suppliers and McGraw Hill and start teaching kids about the actual real fucking world we live in.

Fix these issues and you'll see aviation, medical, trades etc cetera self identify across all peoples in this country. If you allow the broken neighborhoods, the food deserts, economic insecurity, failed public schools to continue in their present track then you'll continue to have kids from rich neighborhoods as the main source of employees for these professional jobs.


Why would a kid that has to walk an hour to and from school on an empty stomach self identify as an aviation enthusiast? The kid is going to self identify as hungry first, and then see crime as the best option to solve their problems. We as a society don't care about minorities because we don't care about Americans. We care only for ourselves and our image.

It is unsafe. If you read the barrier analysis they reccomend dropping the minimum ATSAT score to get more diversity. They said this would result in like 10% more washouts at the academy but diversity was with it. The faa did it, dropping the minimum score

10 percent of 1800 is 180. 180 more academy grads passing each year since 2015 is now 1620. Assuming a that 60% of those CPC (a random percent I picked) that’s 972 more CPCs we could have had, almost 10% of the staffing now.

Would would be better off with at least 10% more CPCs than a more diverse selection pool? Given the six day work weeks, people quitting and suicides I would say yes.

That's not how everyone is hired you absolute dunce. Internship programs for blacks only. Recruitment opportunities only provided at HBCUs and minority institutions. These are just a couple examples of how the FAA is hiring its engineers, pilots, inspectors, lawyers, computer scientists, doctors, finance specialists, security officers....

Well there are numerous organizations dedicated to advancement of (race, sex, gender) BECAUSE of underrepresentation in the past.

So 35.9% were minority. 'White' is just under 60% of population. Still another 5% to go to even be close to equitable representation.

Women and men are almost 50/50, yet hiring was only at 20% female. Another HUGE discrepancy.

WE HAVE TO DO BETTER
