Facility Downgrades / Upgrades

Right now in class D airspace, local operations and itinerants count for the same amount. I think an easy adjustment to more accurately reflect the work involved is to weight VFR itinerant operations much higher to reflect the work involved in sequencing.

Did anybody attend the NVT webinar on Wednesday? What did that entail?
It wasn't anything new as far as I could tell.
It was a good briefing for a union member with 0 knowledge of NVT.

They explained the history of the NVT, their current roster, and the scope of what the NVT is and is not responsible for.
They "enforce the standard". The formula goes back to the 1998 reclass and has been carried through mostly "as-is" since.

They can receive proposals for changes but they don't really have any agency to enact said changes.
[email protected] is their contact

Your current TCI number is based on 12 months. August 1, 2023- September 30, 2024 gives you your September TCI number. If you want your TCI to go up then you better hope this October is busier than last October.
Correct, that’s how the TCI moves but it’s a 3 month above the band that gets you looked at for an upgrade.

I've only worked at 12s so not familiar with the upgrade process, but does back pay include interest? Or something to account for the lost time value of the money?
Having gone through an upgrade before, (and staring down the barrel of another), LOL no there is no interest calculation on the back pay. I'm just thankful we get it at all in the first place.

Weird flex but okay

You realize this covers pretty much most enroute CPCs? Not exactly a rarity or a flex.

Damn that blows. With CDs paying 5%+ and high inflation, a back-pay lump sum is basically a stealth paycut. FFS even the fucking IRS starts paying you interest if it takes them more than 45 days to process your refund.

The guy above saying "you get back pay it doesn't matter"... broski... ECON 101 man.
