Hiring Pause

If only the military took better care then

Again we have to address it at the source, taking care of people throughout their career instead of second rate care.
Yeah the military does need to take better care of us when we are AD, but it won’t change the fact that people are getting asked to do things that puts strain on our bodies and causes injury, actually see combat, or whatever. As much as they can treat it initially would be great and the aftercare. But injuries won’t ever heal to where they were prior so it won’t reduce people getting compensation for service connected disabilities.
I'm a person that's totalled out on VA ratings, I agree it's too easy to get VA ratings for some of the bullshit. Doesn't mean it needs to change, but they should probably figure out the math differently, and put pressure on the DOD to support medical more. I didn't go to the BAS nearly enough, but at least I had enough documented to support my case.
Glad you got yours taken care of, there are definitely scammers out there but there are also those who deserve way more than what they’re getting. Some vets I know were too afraid to claim things such as ptsd, hearing loss, etc because I’d how it might affect their medical and they felt like they didn’t deserve it so I don’t mind if they make it easy for us and won’t make future vets hesitant to claim theirs when they get out

Didn’t know this was a VA disability thread. Can anyone recommend a good VSO so I can scam the system? I can’t get a pay raise due to the clusterfuck they call NCEPT so I gotta get income somewhere else. Thanks in advance!

Ima use a slogan my manager always pulls on me “Didn’t you sign up for the job?” I’m not opposed to the truly messed up people from military but if you’ve never seen active combat didn’t you basically just have a regular job and that job is going to pay you out for life? Same people that are mad about social welfare collect their VA check every month though…

I know no one knows shit about fuck all with the hiring freeze but what about Intra-agency jobs that were being bid? For example I applied to a staff support job before Trump took over. I am hoping that is not on hold.

Great question. My organization has had a bid out for a while and is currently picking up people intra-agency. The last I’ve heard, the process is still underway (post-interviews). I would assume the 2152 job series clearly falls under the exception listed in the executive action.

Everyone must be really good at it then.
I feel like it’s hit or miss then. I’m at 30% myself and the process was over a year and a half just to get that rating. And it was for things that I had records of and seemed pretty straight forward.

I suppose that does reinforce the VA stigma that the scammers can get ratings super easy but those that actually need care after their service have to play hell getting it.

I’ve heard of doctors that don’t even make you pay up front and you don’t pay if they fail

I don't think it's doctors, I've heard there are lawyers that will get all your medical stuff in order and put packages together for you to submit and mark all sorts of stuff based off what you tell them. You don't pay them anything if you don't get a rating and they supposedly only take a portion of your disability payments for some certain time or something like that

Same as the lawyers who will do all the paperwork for your medical retirement and take a cut for a while.

Yeah I haven't heard of that one but it doesn't surprise me. It's probably easy work for the lawyers and they get a decent easy pay check from it

I guess I don’t know the profession. I assumed it was a doctor 😂
