I heard they were hammering out the final details today for the new CRWG numbers to go into effect on this May panel.

In the reauth I believe they were directed to implement the new numbers by April of this year.

They either need to delay the whole panel and get the rules and crwg hammered out, or run the panel with the last set of rules and try again in August or whatever. Not sure which side is insisting on this rushed timeline.

As an individual who tried for 6 years to leave, and never have shit lined up right, I get it. Personally, I gave up after having too many kids. My family moved here haha.

I just went back and read through the reauth and it's written in the law itself which was signed passed Jan 3, 2024 and signed May 16, 2024 that the plan to implement the CRWG should be put into place within one year of the signing. There is a 90 day window after the date of enactment, which is may, where they could brief congress on why they weren't able to implement the plan fully. I think this is the reason why they're trying to squeeze it out ASAP.

(c) REQUIRED IMPLEMENTATION OF IDENTIFIED STAFFING MODEL.—(1) USE OF STAFFING MODEL.—The Administrator shall, as appropriate, take such action that may be necessary to implement and use the staffing model identified by the Transportation Research Board pursuant to subsection(b)(1)(D), including any recommendations for improving such model, not later than one year after enactment of this Act.

(2) BRIEFING.—Not later than 90 days after taking such actions to implement and use the staffing model identified by the Transportation Research Board pursuant to subsection(b)(1)(D), the Administrator shall brief the appropriate committees of Congress regarding the reasons for why any recommendation by the Transportation Research Board study was not incorporated into the implemented staffing model.
